Outcast Omega Pampered by the Alpha General novel Chapter 342

Chapter 341 Humanity’s Supreme Commander

Orion went still for a beat.

When his voice returned, every trace of softness had been pressed into something cold and solid.

“I need a promise from all of you. From this moment forward, you will obey my commands with everything you have. No holding back. No hesitation. No second-guessing any strategy I issue

Atlas Ashford gave a helpless laugh.

“Most people at least wait until the map runs out before showing the dagger. You are already reaching for command of all four of us, and you do not even bother wrapping it in something pleasant.”

His grandson had grown up.

So much that even Atlas could no longer hold him back.

No one in that channel was slow.

All four of them understood exactly what Orion was asking for.

Rowan was the youngest among them in seniority, but even he knew what it meant for Orion to seize command of this defensive war.

Full military authority.

Full responsibility for the result.

Full responsibility for humanity.

If they won, history would carve Orion’s name into stone.

If they lost, generations might curse him.

Humanity was standing at the border between survival and extinction. The weight was enough to crush anyone, and the battlefield ahead was nearly blind.

Even Atlas, who had fought through more wars than most people could count, would not casually claim he could carry that burden.

Yet Orion had stepped forward anyway.

He had chosen to be the first bird to break the silence.

The one who would take the blame.

Was it youth?

Recklessness?

No.

With Marston and Harper committed, Atlas knew there was no more time to waste.

“The Ranger has 267 veteran generals aboard. One 3S-rank, two 2S-ranks, and 264 S-ranks. We also have thirty retired healers and roughly one division of Seventh Legion survivors.”

Perhaps he had sensed his grandson’s resolve.

Atlas’s final words were solemn.

I will take the old generals and the Seventh Legion remnants to build a line of defense and do everything possible to intercept insectoid reinforcements. Orion, do not look back. If we fail, we old soldiers will stay among the stars.”

No one spoke.

There were only 267 people aboard the Ranger.

And how many soldiers could one battered Seventh Legion division have left?

With the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Legions unable to support the Central Line, there was only one path for those old generals if they wanted to hold back the insectoids.

They would die there.
