Chapter 472 The Laboratory Starts to Collapse
“You mean the creatures grown inside Alphas would be different?” Dk Thorne asked immediately.
“Of course.”
Before Evan could elaborate, an enormous crash came from the laboratory’s human experimentation sector. Roars thundered underground, and the entire facility shook.
The disturbance did not stop there.
All of Neon Mirage began convulsing violently.
Realization struck Evan. His face drained white.
“Run. It’s a 2S-class dark-patterned scale-spine centipede. Yuzuki Blackwell intends to destroy this place…”
“Oh God! What is happening?”
“Staff! Where is the staff? Someone owes me an explanation!”
“Damn it! Why has everything gone wrong tonight? This is completely ruining the evening!”
Complaints rose throughout the five public levels, especially inside the Prism Gallery on Level Five, where the most privileged guests were still fighting to purchase expired nutrient solution.
“I’ll investigate immediately. Please wait here.”
One private attendant apologized repeatedly and hurried from the suite.
He searched for a supervisor. The supervisor searched for a manager. The manager report through one level of authority after another, and everyone waited obediently for instructions
Neon Mirage was too prosperous, too secure, too grand to fail.
At first, its guests assumed the shaking was only a minor tremor
Then the central Al spoke.
“Warning. Warning. This is Ivory Hall, Neon Mirage’s central intelligence. Abnormal internal seismic activity detected. Stress on load-bearing structures exceeds safe limits. This facility may collapse at any
moment.”
Everyone: “?”
One second.
Two.
Three…
“Ahhh!”

5 Peans
Screams detonated across the complex. Guests abandoned auction suites, reception halls, and shopping areas, then surged toward the Level One elevators in a frantic tide.
No one wanted to die.
The elites who visited Neon Mirage happened to be especially attached to their lives.
Far below them, Evan trembled through the violent shaking while the laboratory threatened to bury him alive.
He had assumed that once he announced Yuzuki’s plan and warned everyone about the approaching centipede, the soldiers would grab him and run.
What happened instead?
“Have the spirit forms brace the structure in place of the load-bearing walls. Dr. R, download every experimental file immediately. Evan, take us to the critical materials.”
Rowan divided the Alphas into several teams without wasting a second. Even the 17 prisoners were forcibly
awakened.
Soldiers from the Second and Third Legions were already elite. These men belonged to the shadow division, the finest among them.
The uninjured Alphas summoned their spirit forms. Under Adrian’s command, they killed the red scale- spine centipedes and inspected the laboratory’s load-bearing walls.
Whenever a section weakened, a spirit form moved in to support it so the others could continu evidence and materials safely.
Dr. R hacked Ivory Hall at once. She broadcast the collapse warning throughout Neon Mirage the entire complex to begin evacuating early.
Downloading the data itself?
That was the easy part.
Rowan took Harold and the 17 awakened Alphas with him. Together they escorted Julian, Dr. Thorne, and Helen through the experimental sectors under Evan’s guidance.
Yes.
Instead of fleeing, they were going farther inside.
Evan was terrified, but he understood the value of the research records and physical samples. Even with both legs shaking, he gathered his courage and led them onward.
The closer they came to the human experimentation sector, the more violently the lights flickered Wall panels crashed down without warning.
No one paid attention. Spirit forms intercepted each falling threat.

Their eyes remained on the honeycomb of small cells lining the corridor.
-5 Feails
Inside were human beings infested with insectoid eggs. The parasites clustered so densely beneath and across their bodies that the sight turned the stomach.
Every prisoner was an Alpha.
Some still seemed conscious. One female Alpha stared through the wall with desperate longing and silently formed a plea with her lips.
“Kill me. Please.”
Others had already lost awareness. They were no longer people in any meaningful sense, only empty bodies serving as incubators for eggs.
“Damn… so this is what that Nakamura lunatic meant when he said Bethel Watson was perfect for the job?”
A chill ran through Harold. Bethel, standing beside him, looked ready to die from fear.
Helen’s stomach rolled. Had Julian’s earlier slaughter not emptied it completely, he would have been bent over beside the wall and vomiting again.
It was revolting.
Rowan alone said nothing.
His hands closed into fists. His breathing became heavy and rough.
“They’re soldiers, aren’t they?”
The words sounded like a question for Evan.
Rowan’s tone already held the answer.
The
eggs had disfigured the Alphas almost beyond recognition, yet their eyes remained steady. Some bore faint marks across their foreheads from years beneath military caps. Their hands were thick with calluses left by long-term mecha operation.
