Chapter 85 The Melec-Primary Section
“Holy shit, we can choose from all of this?-The academy is way too generous to Piloting
“They’re the ones going up to fight. If the school doesn’: give them good equipment, isn’t that sending
them to die?”
‘Mm. I wonder how many items one mecha gets.
While the students were still guessing, Murphy’s notice suddenly arrived.
‘Warning. Each participating student must configure three weapons for their partnered mecha. Note each mecha may carry no more than three weapons. Selecting more than three will result in disqualification.
The students moved at once.
Many of the students attached under Class A manufacturers immediately moved closer to their team eaders.
In this situation, they had no right to choose weapons themselves. Their team leaders had to approve everything.
‘Three? That’s not bad.”
Landon Reed, apparently with nothing better to do, still followed Julian around.
Two Class C students registered under his name ended up following Julian too.
Julian—”
He had barely said two syllables before Julian cut him off.
‘Don’t follow me. I’m not chatting. I don’t need help choosing weapons.”
Landon’s face said, Can you read minds or something?
‘I hadn’t finished. Also-”
‘I won’t teach you how to make energy blocks. I won’t join the Reed family already have a sexe lur del dating you. I’m busy. Understood?”
Landon said, “!”
Who the hell said anything about dating?
Landon watched Julian walk away with the woll cub
During the retreat, the cub even squeezed its head out over Julian’s shoulder and bared its teeth at hun
Landon felt deeply tired.
“Energy cannon first choice, right?”
Chapter 85 The Melec Primary Section
Julian walked through the sections for hand-mounted weapons; shoulder weapons, and chest weapons, browsing the energy cantons Wesley had only managed to start explaining.
The original owner had been poor enough to rattle and had never taken apart a real mecha.
But he had still gotten into the Imperial Military Academy.
The knowledge in his head allowed Julian to recognize these weapons almost instantly.
After calmly observing most of the students’ choices in the armory, Julian soon understood the weapon preferences of this year’s pilots and manufacturers.
Or rather, the general preference of most imperial mecha fighters.
They liked long-range heavy weapons.
And the theory behind that preference was strong enough.
For Alphas, spirit forms were already their greatest killing weapons. They did not need to fight insectoids up close in a mecha.
Compared with most imperial mechas, spirit forms were much more advanced in combat power.
So Alphas usually supported their spirit forms while protecting themselves.
As for Betas, their bodies were weaker than Alphas’ by nature, and the highest mechas they could pilot were A-class. Unless necessary, they would not charge in and wrestle with insectoids either.
Insectoid shells were hard.
Some could keep moving even after losing their heads.
Once a mecha was damaged, the pilot might die immediately.
Because of all that, Julian noticed most manufacturers chose energy cannons, ion impact cannois, super energy rifles, anti-air missile arrays, and similar weapons.
1
Top students like Landon Reed, Akito Blackwell, and Bessie Phillips generally selected two ranged weapons, then added a thruster, a targeting enhancer, or an energy shield
Their pilots were stronger and more balanced, so they considered survivability and endurance too.
Students matched with middle or lower-ranked pilots tended to go pure offense
Their whole strategy was basically roll up sleeves and hit first
When everyone was roughly close in level, offense clearly matched first-year temperament better than
defense.
“All ranged weapons, huh?”
Julian rubbed his chin.

Finis
“Got it
The person Akito had ordered to quietly watch him saw Jurian choose a chest-mounted energy cannon
In the tail’s opinion, that was a safe, standard pick.
No mistake there.
He was just starting to think Julian, despite being from Class F, did not look completely ignorant.
Then Julian went straight to the energy-shield section and picked a shiekl.
And then-
That lunatic went to the melee-primary section.
The tail said nothing.
Was he human?
He was not slandering Julian.
If Julian had simply gone to the melee section to choose a necessary backup weapon, that would have be understandable.
Even Alphas could be forced into close range by insectoids.
