Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 189

"Phoebe." Vanessa shrieked, throwing herself down to pull Phoebe into her arms. She looked up, glaring at Phoenix with venomous hatred. "How did I give birth to such a vicious monster like you?"

Facing her biological mother's curse, Phoenix scoffed, her expression unfazed. "Can't help it. I take after you."

Vanessa's face turned as pale as paper. If Warren hadn't been supporting her, she likely would have fainted alongside Phoebe.

"Now it's Julian's turn." Phoenix spun around, her gaze landing on Julian, who was shivering in the corner.

Julian had long since been terrified out of his wits by her ruthless methods. Even seeing Phoebe punished, he hadn't dared utter a single peep.

But Phoenix clearly had no intention of letting this opportunistic brother off the hook.

"Julian, you and Phoebe are birds of a feather. Not only did you cover up the truth, but you also enabled her lies. That's a double offense." Phoenix's voice sounded like a judge handing down a death sentence, making Julian tremble violently.

"Phoenix, I know I was wrong." Julian collapsed to his knees, plastering a sycophantic smile on his face. "I apologize. I'll grovel. Please, I beg you, let me go."

He didn't want to lose the Prescott family's resources, and he definitely didn't want to be shipped off into an arranged marriage like a piece of merchandise.

"Julian, considering your sincere attitude, I can give you a chance." Phoenix's airy words instantly gave Julian a ray of hope.

"Phoenix, thank you. I'll remember this favor forever, and I will absolutely never cross you again." Julian was overjoyed.

However, Phoenix's next sentence plunged him straight into the abyss.

"Since you and Zoe have already slept together... then as a man, naturally you should take full responsibility." Phoenix turned her head toward Dominic Vaughan, who had been silently playing dead this whole time.

Dominic had originally planned to wait until the Prescotts finished their internal drama before stepping in to extort a massive payout. He never expected Phoenix to turn the spearhead directly on him.

"Dominic, I trust you'll be a reasonable father, unlike Warren and Vanessa who are blind and foolish. Right?"

Dominic's mouth twitched. She was roasting him over an open fire.

If he rejected the proposal, he would be admitting that he was just as blind and foolish as Warren; if he agreed, his extortion plans would completely fall apart.

"Zoe, are you willing to marry Julian?" Phoenix didn't even give Dominic time to react, directly asking Zoe instead.

Zoe's eyes lit up, and she answered eagerly, "I am. To be honest, I've liked Julian since we were kids. Even though this time was an accident, I don't blame him."

"As long as he takes responsibility for me, I'll be perfectly content."

Dominic's pupils shrank. He was just about to yell at her when Phoenix cut him off.

"Dominic, it seems this accident is a blessing in disguise. Zoe has admired Julian for years, and today she finally gets her wish."

This method of using a dull knife to slice flesh—slowly pushing her enemies into an abyss of despair—delivered a far more satisfying thrill of revenge.

"Phoenix, Pierce, come with me to the tea room," Alistair stood up, leaning on his cane as he slowly walked toward the inner chambers.

Phoenix and Pierce exchanged a glance, seamlessly following behind him.

The few people left in the hall all had incredibly colorful expressions, yet the hatred lurking in their eyes toward Phoenix was remarkably uniform.

"Dad, this cousin of mine is pretty interesting," Zander Vaughan, who had been silent the whole time, stared at Phoenix's retreating back with a profound smirk.

Dominic shot his son a cold look, warning him. "Zander, reel in your little schemes. Phoenix isn't a bone you can chew on."

A woman who had returned from the countryside and served prison time, yet could force Warren's entire family to eat dirt consecutively, proved that her mind was deep and her methods were ruthless.

Warren's family was blinded by their own involvement, but as a bystander, Dominic saw it all with crystal clarity—that entire family was just blind and bringing ruin upon themselves.

"Vanessa, my dear sister, you really bet on the wrong horse this time," Dominic looked at his dazed sister and couldn't help but sigh. "Abandoning a true phoenix to pamper a wild pheasant... How laughable."

Vanessa shuddered, looking blankly at Dominic, her heart dropping. She instinctively looked down at the unconscious Phoebe in her arms.

Had she... really made a mistake?
