Penny and Zoren didn’t stay at the old residence that day but left later that night. Penny was a little embarrassed to be the center of attention after being locked in the room. Fortunately, Old Mrs. Pierson was "understanding enough." The two of them headed to Zoren’s place, where they stayed for the next two days.
Since Penny was still on her period, nothing intimate happened during their two days together. Instead, they spent the time lazily cuddling, watching movies, and kissing — but that was about it.

[Mama]
"Yieee~" Jessa playfully bumped her shoulder against Penny. "You naughty, dirty girl! You didn’t tell me you’re married — where are your manners, huh?"
Penny laughed awkwardly, hoping her mother would come over and rescue her from the head chef. "Auntie, aren’t you supposed to be in the kitchen? Why are you out here?"
"I’m out here because your mom has been crying to me." Jessa clicked her tongue, glaring at Penny. "Besides, I have other chefs working. You dirty girl, you always acted like someone about to enter a convent, but you’re not even a virgin anymore."
"Aunt!!" Penny’s face flushed red as she flinched under the curious stares of nearby customers. She lowered her head, biting her lip, embarrassed by her mischievous aunt. "Auntie, it’s not... like that..."
Jessa smirked and leaned in, resting her arms on the edge of the table. "It’s okay. I’ve always known you were a bit nasty. So, tell me — you two..." she trailed off, tapping her index fingers together suggestively. "... right?"
Penny pursed her lips, studying the intrigued look in Jessa’s eyes. "Auntie..." she whimpered quietly, "... was it so wrong?"
"You nasty girl — hahaha!" Jessa laughed loudly, tapping Penny’s shoulder. Ignoring the stares she received, she leaned in closer. "How was it?"
"Well..." Penny cleared her throat and glanced around to make sure her mother wasn’t nearby. Once she was certain, she lowered her head and whispered excitedly, "Amazing."
"Kyahh!!!" Jessa clapped her hands and squealed while Penny bit her lip to suppress her laughter. She couldn’t help but grin foolishly.
"But Auntie, I got my period the next day," Penny whispered, feeling comfortable enough to confide in her. Deep down, Penny knew Jessa was the only person she could talk to about this. She couldn’t imagine telling her mother out of embarrassment, and certainly not her brothers.
"So what? It’s just a period. It’s not like you two haven’t..." Jessa stopped mid-sentence, raising an eyebrow. "Didn’t you say you’ve been married for five years? Don’t tell me you two...?"
Penny sighed and pursed her lips. Although the men in the family already knew the story, Allison and Jessa had no idea. They were still unaware of Penny’s secret marriage five years ago or that she didn’t even realize she was married until recently.
"Auntie, we didn’t do it until I moved in with him a few days ago," she confessed, causing Jessa to gasp in disbelief.
"What?"
Jessa looked at her with a mix of emotions. "I guess you’re not as nasty as I thought."
"Huh?"
"If you’ve been married that long without doing your marital duties, then he must love you a lot!" Jessa declared. "If that was your uncle, he would’ve found another woman."
"Aunt, saying ’not trying to make me overthink’ makes me overthink."

"Aunt, are you saying I’m the rotten one?"
Jessa raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Aren’t you?"
"Well..." Penny scratched her neck, thinking of how Nina had preserved her virginity while she had already given hers away. Not that she regretted it, but there was a small twinge of shame in comparison.
"It’s okay, it’s okay," Jessa waved dismissively. "Back in the day, virginity was important. Now, love is what matters most. As long as you give your all to the man you love, there’s no shame if it doesn’t work out. Who says a woman’s worth is based on her hymen?"
"Aunt, why are you talking about me and my husband getting divorced?"
"That’s not what I’m saying," Jessa remarked. "I just wanted to tell you this in case my daughters filled your head with some outdated beliefs they picked up somewhere. That’s not what I taught them."
Penny smiled wryly and chuckled. Her aunt always had a way with words, and they weren’t bad at all.
Suddenly, they heard Allison’s voice.
"You two have been so loud. What are you talking about?" Allison asked, standing beside their table, glancing between Jessa and Penny.
As Penny stretched her neck, Allison noticed a small, fading hickey behind Penny’s scarf. She smiled but said nothing, listening as Jessa waved off the question and changed the topic. Allison didn’t point it out either and simply sat with them, going along with the conversation.
Although she knew Penny would likely confide in Jessa about her marital duties, Allison understood that when it came to matters of the heart, her daughter would come to her.
