Chapter 1006: Chapter 1006: He Wants to Learn How to Climb Trees

"No, there’s nothing going on." Lian Qingyang stammered and said, "Sis, don’t play matchmaker randomly."

With that, Lian Qingyang ran outside.

As he reached the door, he realized that Jin Yan, who should have left earlier, was standing not far from the entrance with clothes in her arms.

Seeing Jin Yan, Lian Qingyang recalled the scene from that day in his dream and suddenly felt he couldn’t face her. Even their usual sparring seemed to lose some of its vigor.

Jin Yan watched Lian Qingyang leave with a hint of sadness in her eyes.

Tang Yue happened to witness this scene. All along, she believed both of them were rather clueless. But now it seemed that her silly brother was the clueless one.

Tang Yue quietly walked away, not exposing the situation.

In the blink of an eye, it was time for Si Yu to return to the Company. The month had flown by.

"Your leg just healed, you shouldn’t be walking around too much yet, and you’re already going back to work? That’s too soon," Tang Yue observed Meng Siyu’s leg. Standing there in his white shirt, he looked perfectly fine. If she hadn’t seen his injury with her own eyes, she wouldn’t have believed it was severe.

After resting for twenty days, he was finally able to walk. For the remaining ten days, Meng Siyu did rehabilitation exercises at home while his company’s secretary delivered tasks for him to handle. Watching this, Tang Yue felt a pang of sympathy.

"Is it really different to work from home?" Tang Yue muttered, worried about his leg.

"Don’t worry, I won’t push myself too hard."

Meng Siyu kissed her forehead and said, "I’ll be back tonight, I promise not to injure my leg again."

Tang Yue glanced at him silently, thinking about the last time he promised he wouldn’t get hurt.

He nearly crippled his own leg.

"My mistake," Meng Siyu admitted quietly.

Tang Yue pinched his high nose and said, "Okay, I know you’re a workaholic, and getting injured wasn’t what you wanted; I understand. But..."

Tang Yue tidied his white shirt and brushed off imaginary dust, and said, "No matter what, remember to come home."

Tang Yue’s bright eyes looked at him. These days, she would often wake up scared at night and could only go back to sleep upon hearing Meng Siyu’s gentle snores beside her. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Okay."

Meng Siyu nodded seriously. Their eyes met, and though there were no intimate gestures, the warmth of the moment was enough to make them both happy.

Summer vacation arrived, and the two kids were frolicking at home every day. Chu Huaijin also came over, always calling Chenchen "Little Sister Chenchen" and being very protective of her.

Every time Tang Yue saw Chu Huaijin seriously calling Chenchen "Little Sister," she couldn’t help but want to laugh.

"Little Sister Chenchen, let’s go play," Chu Huaijin said routinely while holding Chenchen’s hand, whispering a few words by her ear.

Chenchen immediately followed Chu Huaijin next door, with Zaozao tagging along to protect his sister from being taken away.

"Sister An Yu, your little Jin is amazing, already knows how to care for his sister at such a young age?" Tang Yue joked as she looked at Qin Anyu and asked, "Aren’t you planning to go for a second child?"

"I would love to have a sweet daughter, but it’s not allowed to have more kids now."

Qin Anyu said with regret, "Seeing your Chenchen makes me want to take her home, she’s just too cute."

"Haha~" Tang Yue beamed and said, "Sister An Yu, don’t worry, little Jin will bring you a beautiful daughter-in-law someday."

"Let me have Chenchen as a daughter-in-law." Qin Anyu had been eyeing Chenchen for her son since birth; as time went by, Chenchen’s face became more and more beautiful, completely inheriting Tang Yue and Meng Siyu’s best features. Her bright, clear eyes were especially endearing.

Chenchen was so thrilled upon seeing the eggs, she yelled, "Come down, let me have them."

Zaozao frowned, yet to agree when Chenchen had already found another spot to climb up the tree.

Zaozao came down with two eggs.

Chenchen climbed higher than Chu Huaijin, quickly and nimbly; there were still six small eggs in the nest she wanted to take, but her hands were a bit too small.

Chenchen’s eyes darted around, she looked at Chu Huaijin and said, "Brother Jin, can you help me take the eggs down?"

Her big, round eyes seemed to speak for themselves, and Chu Huaijin nodded, becoming the best intermediary to pass the eggs to Zaozao—no choice since he was only halfway up!

"Mommy, I want to eat the eggs." Chenchen quickly climbed down the tree and went to find her mom with the eggs.

Chu Huaijin, still in the tree: He needed to learn how to climb trees!

At night, Tang Yue kept thinking about this matter.

"Wife, do you have something on your mind?" Meng Siyu embraced her from behind; he felt something was off about Tang Yue tonight, as if she had something on her mind.

Tang Yue turned over, laying flat; Meng Siyu wrapped around her like an octopus. After a moment of thought, she said, "Today, Sister An Yu came over."

"No way."

Meng Siyu interrupted.

Tang Yue looked at Meng Siyu, puzzled.

Meng Siyu said, "An Yu wants to take advantage of Chenchen; you tell her not to mess with Chenchen."
