Chapter 1063: Chapter 1063: She’s About to Give Birth

In Zhaojia Village, people come and go searching for someone, and many are guarding it. Anyone entering or leaving the village is subject to questioning. The villagers are anxious, especially those who mistakenly accused Tang Yue yesterday. Deep down, they are a bit frightened; they didn’t know any better.

Lian He is stationed at one of the road junctions, rigorously questioning pedestrians. Inside Zhaojia Village, people are asked to cooperate and visit each household. Although it is impossible to survey every single house, at least they can inquire if anyone has seen a stranger’s face. Perhaps there might be some clues.

The news about Wu Xinming was suppressed at Lian He and others’ suggestion. Everyone is focused solely on searching for Tang Yue without mentioning Wu Xinming’s disappearance, as if Wu Xinming was never missing.

In a guesthouse.

Tang Yue has been kept locked for one whole night and another day. Apart from eating and using the bathroom, she’s had no chance to escape. Even when she goes to the bathroom, a woman follows her closely. If she attempts to scream, her mouth is quickly covered, preventing her from making any sound.

Tang Yue considers confronting the woman, but she quietly assesses that the woman’s skills are superior to hers. Even if she manages to escape, the man would catch her instantly.

"Heh, it seems the rumors aren’t always trustworthy." The man presses a dagger against Tang Yue’s face, the cold blade touching her cheek. Just a slight slash could ruin her pretty face.

Tang Yue’s mouth is gagged, and her eyes, frighteningly bright, stare at the man without a trace of fear.

With a flick of his dagger, the towel sealing her mouth is cut off, and he says, "Don’t think about screaming. This guesthouse is entirely ours now. Plus, the family here happens to have a lunatic. If you scream, even if someone is drawn here, you’ll only be mistaken for the lunatic."

Tang Yue exercises her mouth, uncomfortable from being held in one position for so long. After stretching, she purses her lips, showing no intention of replying. Leaning against the wall with lowered eyes, she remains silent no matter what the man says.

"Meng Siyu hasn’t come. What a shame for someone as beautiful as you." The man raises Tang Yue’s chin with his dagger, forcing her to look at him.

Tang Yue curls her lips slightly and says, "You’re wrong."

The man slides his dagger, the cold blade resting on her chin, keeping his gaze on her eyes. He sees no hint of fear and asks, "What’s wrong?"

Tang Yue doesn’t respond, keeping her eyes down and silent.

"Speak." The man applies pressure on his wrist, and a thin trail of blood can be seen on her pale chin.

"What I want to say, you might not want to hear." Tang Yue purses her lips, her dark eyes swirling as she continues, "If you truly want to lure Si Yu here, you should ensure my complete safety. Otherwise, do you think you still have a fighting chance?"

"He hasn’t come." The man reminded her.

"You hid me too well." Tang Yue suddenly sighed.

The man’s eyes darken. He then says, "Do you think moving you would lead someone to your tracks?"

"Or are you suggesting Meng Siyu is so worthless in your eyes?" The man sneers, disbelieving every single word from Tang Yue.

"No, precisely because he’s so capable, hiding me so thoroughly is futile." Tang Yue’s eyes are filled with trust for Meng Siyu, believing that as long as time is prolonged, Wu Xin’s people will definitely find her.

Just as the man wanted to speak, two subordinates rushed in, hastily saying, "Something’s wrong. Their people are about to find this place, boss. We must leave immediately. If we don’t, we won’t be able to escape."

"Xiao Li, seal her mouth and take her away." The man said as he turned to leave.

In the room, only the woman and Tang Yue are left. Tang Yue says, "You like him. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like you."
