Dr. Xu and Grandpa Miao are both seasoned traditional Chinese medicine doctors. When they get together to discuss, who knows, they might even come up with a way to treat Tang Jun’s eyes.
"Alright." Grandpa Miao didn’t refuse. Since he planned to meet with Dr. Xu, he naturally wouldn’t delay. He said, "Tell Dr. Xu my name is Miao Yilun, not the ’lun’ from the word ’moon’ but the ’lun’ from ’ethics’ or ’humanity.’"
Si Yu repeated the words, not missing a single one.
Only then did Grandpa Miao feel assured.
Si Yu didn’t ask much else. Anyway, when Dr. Xu comes, the truth will naturally be revealed.
After dinner, as they left Fat Aunt’s house, Si Yu took Tang Yue back to their room. The room was an empty one in the village. A few days ago, they all stayed there together, and the villagers had done some repairs afterward.
Si Yu took out the bed sheets and duvet cover from the luggage and changed them. The simple bed soon felt familiar and cozy.
The mountains are cold, but the heated kang beds are warm. Lying on one, you don’t feel cold; instead, you feel cozy and warm. Outside, it’s ice-cold, while inside the house, it’s very warm.
Ding Ling, Jin Yan, and Yuan Yu all shared another room. The heated kang bed there was large. With enough quilts, five or six people could sleep without feeling cramped.
Lian Qingyang and Tang Jun shared a room. Hugging the quilt, Lian Qingyang sighed and said, "You know, I should’ve just gotten married last year."
If he had, he could have rightfully shared a room with Jin Zi.
He didn’t get to talk to Jin Zi properly.
Tang Jun threw a pillow at him and said, "If you want me to switch rooms, I’m not agreeing. Before you get married, don’t even think about pulling any tricks."
Lian Qingyang: "..."
"Tang Jun, what absurd thoughts are running through your mind? I just want to chat with Jin Zi."
Lian Qingyang refused to admit he wanted to hug and chat properly with Jin Zi.
Lian Qingyang turned around to look for Jin Yan. Since she just got here, she’s probably not used to it, so he decided to remind her of some things.
As Lian Qingyang left, Tang Yue came over.
"Who’s that?"
Tang Jun didn’t have the ability to recognize someone just by their footsteps yet.
"It’s your sister."
Tang Yue replied irritably. She had specifically gone to the kitchen to cook some noodles and brought a bowl over.
"I noticed you didn’t eat much in the evening and thought you might get hungry later, so I cooked some noodles for you." Tang Yue put the steaming noodles into Tang Jun’s hands, leaving the chopsticks and bowl in front of him without feeding him.
Tang Jun didn’t need sympathy, nor to be treated delicately; otherwise, it would have the opposite effect, making him feel uneasy and even more self-conscious.
"Thanks, Sis."
Tang Jun didn’t hesitate and started eating the noodles right away.
"Slow down, no one’s going to take it from you." Tang Yue couldn’t help but remind him, seeing how eager he was.
Without lifting his head, Tang Jun said, "Don’t worry, I won’t choke."
"And of course, if Xiao Jun’s eyes recover by then, everyone will be happy."
Si Yu’s words tempted Tang Yue even more. Reluctantly, she agreed. Although she felt uncomfortable hiding it, if it were her, she’d probably make the same choice.
"Sis, you’re really the best, truly my sister." Tang Jun expressed his gratitude and then turned to Si Yu, "Brother-in-law, thank you."
Without Si Yu, it would’ve been hard to persuade Tang Yue.
Si Yu nodded casually without saying more, knowing well that even without his intervention, Tang Yue wouldn’t inform Tang Zhengde and Zhang Hualian. With her kind and filial nature, she would’ve realized it eventually.
"Alright, enough of thank yous. Just listen to Grandpa Miao and get your eyes treated so your sister won’t worry." Si Yu instructed.
Tang Jun cheerfully agreed.
Si Yu was about to pull Tang Yue away, but Tang Yue resisted, saying, "I still have things to discuss with Xiao Jun. You go ahead."
Si Yu sat right down on the kang bed, showing no intention of leaving.
Tang Yue decided not to persuade him any further. She said, "Xiao Jun, you and Yuan Yu..."
Before Tang Yue could finish, Tang Jun interrupted, "Sis, we’re just friends."
"Whether or not you’re being oblivious, I don’t care. But, Tang Jun." Tang Yue called out his full name seriously and said, "You can’t be a coward. If you like someone, you should go after them. You claim you don’t care about your eyes, but the truth is?"
Tang Jun fell into silence.
