"Sister Xiao Yue," Lian Qingyang said with a reluctant look on his face.
Tang Yue put on a serious expression, her bright eyes fixed on him. Even if Lian Qingyang was unwilling, he had to agree.
"I live on Jinyang Street, in Alley 2." Jin Yan originally didn’t want him to escort her, but seeing Lian Qingyang’s reluctance, she simply gave her address.
Tang Yue watched their departing figures and couldn’t help but wonder, as these two bicker, will there be budding feelings between them?
Could she be getting a new sister-in-law soon?
Tang Yue thought about it but didn’t dwell on it. Regardless of what happens, Lian Qingyang certainly wouldn’t choose someone he didn’t like.
"Hey, can you ride a bike? If not, I can take you along," Jin Yan offered, eyeing Lian Qingyang’s skinny frame.
Lian Qingyang looked tall and thin, not robust at all.
"Hop on."
Lian Qingyang immediately sat on the bicycle and gestured for her to get on.
He had taken a taxi over, but now he was on Jin Yan’s ladies’ bicycle. His tall frame made the bike look small.
Jin Yan was straightforward, climbing onto the bike, her hands holding onto Lian Qingyang’s clothes. In the dark, under dim street lamps, their shadows slowly disappeared into the alley.
Perhaps Lian Qingyang didn’t ride much, as the bike wobbled as if it might tip over. Jin Yan held tightly onto his clothes and said, "Lian Qingyang, do you actually know how to ride a bike?"
"Of course I do."
Lian Qingyang deliberately wobbled the handlebars, causing the bike to swerve left and right, making Jin Yan scream repeatedly.
After the prank, Lian Qingyang was in a great mood, his joyous laughter echoed far into the night.
Jin Yan looked at Lian Qingyang’s tall back, pursed her lips, listening to his laughter. Her anger wouldn’t dissipate. Her eyes twinkled mischievously, and she began to sway on the bike.
Unprepared, Lian Qingyang was startled.
"Haha~"
Jin Yan watched as Lian Qingyang scrambled to steady the bike, swaying even more vigorously. After much fuss, they finally got Jin Yan home.
Approaching her doorstep, Jin Yan hopped off, mischievously giving a push, causing Lian Qingyang to crash with the bike. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Fortunately, the bike couldn’t go that fast, and Lian Qingyang reacted quickly.
"Jin, I kindly brought you home, and you purposely made me fall," Lian Qingyang said, getting up from the ground, thankful for his quick reflexes; otherwise, he might have gotten hurt.
"You’re the one who got ’gold’."
Jin Yan stepped forward to help him with the bike, slightly tilting her head in the moonlight, eyes filled with anger. "Who asked you to scare me earlier? If your biking skills are bad, don’t blame others."
"Hmph~"
In the summer, the four of them would cram together on makeshift beds. Even with exams, they kept a cheerful atmosphere, but when it was time to test, they were more serious than anyone else.
The three-day exams flew by in the blink of an eye.
On the evening the exams ended, Tang Jun and his mates ordered a feast to take home. They hadn’t drunk any alcohol during the exam days.
"Come on, let’s drink till we drop tonight." Tang Jun placed a box of beer beside the table, "Finally done with exams. No one’s excused from drinking tonight."
"Cheers," Zhang Qiang said, drinking straight from the bottle. After years of effort, these few days’ exams felt like a total liberation.
Wei Jiajie and Mo Weidong also joined, drinking directly from their bottles.
By the next day, when Mr. Mo, Mrs. Mo, Mr. Wei, Mrs. Wei, Zhang Huafeng, and Liu Cuixong arrived, they found the four of them drunk on the floor, beer bottles scattered about, and the room reeking of alcohol.
Tang Jun and his mates were sprawled out everywhere.
"Jiajie, wake up," Mrs. Wei nudged the sound asleep Wei Jiajie, unable to help but hold her nose, "How much did they drink?"
"They probably relaxed after exams." Mrs. Mo was always understanding, aware of her son’s habits. She glanced at the slumbering Mo Weidong and said, "By the way, is your Jiajie also going to Jing City? Speaking of which, Xiao Yue is seven months pregnant, and it’s twins. Her belly must be quite big now. If things weren’t so busy, I’d love to visit Jing City."
"Xiao Yue is truly blessed," Mrs. Wei praised Tang Yue. She used to criticize the Tang Family, but now, she couldn’t be more satisfied. Tang Mingli’s business was booming, he treated his daughter well, and thanks to Tang Yue, Jiajie’s grades improved significantly. Years ago, they opted for county school over city school after much discussion between Mrs. Wei and Mr. Wei.
Now, seeing Wei Jiajie’s rise in motivation and his scores skyrocketing from average to excellent, it was all thanks to the Tang Family’s influence.
