If only Xiang Yazhi wasn’t so greedy, she wouldn’t have ended up like this today.
"Someone come," Shen Jing shouted. In an instant, four men in black rushed in and hoisted Xiang Yazhi away.
"Shen Jing, you can’t do this to me," Xiang Yazhi screamed insanely, her eyes filled with crazed hatred.
"You’re the one who killed Suniang," Shen Jing said coldly, then ordered the four men in black, "Do it."
"What are you going to do?" Xiang Yazhi looked at Shen Jing in shock.
Two of the black-clad men went into the kitchen, while another started fighting with Lian Qingyang.
Lian Qingyang was taken aback but immediately counterattacked. He was prepared when he arrived, having already readied a dagger, which he unhesitatingly slashed at one of the men.
The dagger cut the man’s arm, blood spattering out, mingling with the scent of blood.
In the kitchen, thick smoke billowed.
"You’re going to set a fire, are you trying to kill me?" Xiang Yazhi’s pupils instantly dilated as she looked at Shen Jing in horror.
Shen Jing took a step back, saying, "Only dead men keep secrets."
One man approached Xiang Yazhi and effortlessly tied her up.
"Ah..."
"Help, help!"
Xiang Yazhi shrieked for help, but the next moment, her mouth was covered.
Oil was splashed on the floor, and the fire from the kitchen instantly spread to the living room. The blazing flames ignited huge sparks, shooting up high flames.
Lian Qingyang knocked down one man, but there were still three others, plus the fire was so fierce that he retreated into the room, where Cen Yuanshan, who was ready, quickly responded and dealt with all three people.
In the night, Shen Jing walked out of the house and quickly got into a nearby car, watching as the flames engulfed the small villa. The fire soared, shrouding the entire villa, and with it, the panicked shouts of the neighbors nearby.
A minute later, the four men still hadn’t come out, Shen Jing asked gravely, "Go check."
"Yes," a man dashed off, circling to the back of the villa.
Behind the villa, a sea of fire extended, with nothing besides a large wooden barrel-like object in the backyard that was yet untouched by the flames.
"No one escaped," the man reported back to the car.
Shen Jing looked at the sea of fire; the light in his eyes was inscrutable. "Suniang, I’ve finally avenged you, and the Lian Family will not come out well either."
Shen Jing looked away, his voice steady, "Go, return to Y Country immediately."
"Yes."
The car drove off at once.
Shortly after the man left, Lian Qingyang and Cen Yuanshan emerged from the water, along with Xiang Yazhi, whom they had pulled out from the water.
Since the fire started, Xiang Yazhi had fainted out of fright and hadn’t yet awoken. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"Aunt," Lian Qingyang looked at Lian Tong, moved and excited.
"Xiao Yang, both your father and grandfather already know, and they made this decision; that’s why they never told you about your background," Lian Tong said, patting his shoulder. "I’ve watched you grow up and know you’re a good kid. Blood ties don’t mean a thing; you’re family regardless."
Lian Tong raised an eyebrow, recalling the decision she was present for, and despite feeling downhearted during the paternity test, she couldn’t think of him as anything but family.
"Aunt, you’re amazing," Lian Qingyang couldn’t help but lean against Lian Tong, expressing his closeness.
"I’m your aunt," Lian Tong responded with a smile, rarely seeing Lian Qingyang being so dependent.
Suddenly, the lovely scene ended abruptly.
Lian Qingyang was lifted up, tossed onto the single sofa beside him.
Gu Chun dominantly wrapped his arm around Lian Tong’s waist, looking defensively at Lian Qingyang.
Luckily, Lian Qingyang was quick to react; otherwise, he’d have been thrown to the ground. Glancing at Gu Chun’s demeanor, he pouted, "Uncle, you’re just like my brother-in-law—too domineering."
"Gu Chun," Lian Tong felt a bit embarrassed, her cheeks slightly flushed. Even in her thirties, she always appeared as youthful as a maiden in front of Gu Chun.
"Men and women should maintain distance," Gu Chun replied seriously, even if Lian Qingyang was a blood nephew, he disliked seeing him being so close to Lian Tong.
"You’re bullying me because I don’t have a girlfriend," Lian Qingyang stood up angrily. Did everyone view him this way?
"Aunt, you’re my real aunt," Lian Qingyang pouted and said, "You wouldn’t guess, I’m Sister Xiao Yue’s real brother."
