The doctor emerged first, exhaustion written across his face.
The three rushed over, asking in unison, "How is he?"
The doctor removed his mask, his expression grave. "Fortunately, you brought him in just in time. Any later and his life would have been in danger."
Before anyone could breathe a sigh of relief, the doctor continued carefully, "However, the patient's condition remains critical. He's currently in a coma, and whether he'll wake up... it's hard to say."
At these words, Zachary's spine went rigid. His fists clenched at his sides with audible tension, and red veins appeared in his eyes.
Sarah noticed the shift in his demeanor. Worry creasing her features, she carefully reached out to hook her fingers around his hand in silent comfort.
Zachary exhaled slowly, turning to look at her with a forced smile. "I'm fine."
Since William could slip back into danger at any moment, he was transferred directly from surgery to the ICU for isolation monitoring.
Seeing William through the glass, tubes running from every part of his body, Sarah couldn't bear to watch. She tugged on Zachary's hand and turned away, her nose stinging with tears.
Zachary fell into an eerie calm, his dark eyes fixed intently on the figure in the hospital bed as he whispered like something from hell itself, "Grandfather, I'll make whoever did this pay."
Zachary went straight to the company after leaving the hospital. Sarah had classes and couldn't get away, so she could only repeatedly warn him not to act impulsively.
She wasn't worried about Zachary losing to the Wilsons—she was afraid he'd lose his rationality over William's condition and alert their enemies prematurely, making everything counterproductive.
The conference room was tomb-quiet. Every executive sat on edge, and when their eyes met Zachary's razor-sharp features and commanding presence, even the air seemed to thin.

Zachary remained seated in his office chair, completely unmoved by the threats.
"Mr. Wilson, what are you talking about?"

Zachary's mind was filled with images of his grandfather in the emergency room, his face turning ashen.
