Yunyi arrived at the restaurant just as the Chu family members had.
They happened to meet at the entrance.
Smiling, Yunyi greeted them, "Second Grandpa, Uncle, Aunt." She then nodded to her peers following behind. Snow was drifting down from the sky, and it felt quite cold outside. "Let’s go inside," Yunyi said.
Just as they entered the lobby, Hua Wanqing descended from the stairs. "Yunyi."
Yunyi turned her head to look over. "Uncle Hua."
Hua Wanqing looked towards the Chu family members and asked Yunyi, "Are these your newly recognized relatives?"
Yunyi introduced them with a smile and, seeing everyone standing, said, "Let’s go upstairs first."
Hua Wanqing hurriedly agreed, "Yes, yes, of course."
As he led everyone upstairs, he asked, "Yunyi, how many days can you stay this time?"
"I only took seven days off. I have to leave the day after tomorrow morning."
"Isn’t everyone starting to ’hibernate’ over there now? Couldn’t you take a few more days off?"
Yunyi leaned in closer to him and lowered her voice. "I miscalculated. I was only thinking about not having to endure the wind and sun at the clinic and forgot that ’hibernating’ doesn’t include the clinic staff." She finished with a laugh.
Hua Wanqing looked at the young girl. "It would have been better if you’d gone south then. At least it wouldn’t be so cold."
Just as Yunyi was about to reply, she saw Second Brother Hua Wanlin of the Hua Family come out of a private room. "I was just about to go down and see why you hadn’t come up yet."
Having said that, he ushered the Chu family members into the private room. "Everyone, please take a seat."
Yunyi asked in a low voice, "Aunt Qunying, why didn’t my Aunt Hai Lan come today?"
Xi Qunying ladled a bowl of soup and placed it in front of Yunyi. "She’s on a business trip and couldn’t make it."
Jiang Yuli could tell that Yunyi was quite familiar with the Hua Family, and a pang of jealousy struck her. She deliberately asked, "Yunyi, are you free tomorrow? Could you perhaps show us around?"
Yunyi wasn’t going to indulge her. "Sorry, I already have plans for tomorrow."
Jiang Yuli put on a troubled expression. "We’re not familiar with Beijing, and we had hoped you could take us around."
Xi Qunying saw right through Jiang Yuli’s scheme and directly countered on Yunyi’s behalf, "Beijing isn’t that big. You’ll get to know it quickly enough; there’s no need for a special tour."
Chu Xinming knew his wife’s character all too well. She’s just hoping Yunyi or the Hua family will pay for their tour, isn’t she? It’s not as if they’re fools. She really dares to ask for anything! He then said aloud, "Sister-in-law is right. Take your time getting familiar with the city. There’s no rush."
