One day, Yunyi was diagnosing a patient when she heard Lian Shuzhen’s voice outside the consultation room: "Chuyunyi, you charlatan!"
Upon hearing this, Yunyi smiled. She had been waiting for her, curious to find out how bad it had become for her now.
She reached into the drawer for a gauze mask, put it on, and after finishing writing the prescription for the patient in front of her, she didn’t call for the next one. Instead, she got up and went straight to the consultation room door.
By this time, Lian Shuzhen was blocked outside by the patients waiting in line.
She said angrily, "Chuyunyi is just a quack doctor. Look at me, I got worse the more I was treated by her."
Yunyi looked at her trying to incite the crowd and didn’t get angry. When she saw her stop, she spoke, "Are you done?"
Lian Shuzhen saw Yunyi coming out, shook off the two women who held her in disdain, "Chuyunyi, what kind of nonsense prescription did you give me? The smell on me is getting worse. Where’s your conscience?"
Yunyi calmly looked at her, "I remember you. Your symptoms are quite unique; a foul smell all over your body. You definitely didn’t take the medicine according to my instructions. No wonder you’re not getting better."
Lian Shuzhen glared, "You’re lying, I did everything you said."
A flicker of ridicule crossed Yunyi’s eyes, "Didn’t I tell you before? Go home, read the instructions carefully, and make sure to follow what I said."
Lian Shuzhen yelled, "Don’t try to escape responsibility. Let me tell you, if you don’t give me an explanation today, I’ll make sure you pay!"
Yunyi asked indifferently, "Since you started taking the medicine, have you been cooking the meals yourself?"
Lian Shuzhen heard her asking irrelevant questions, "What are you asking these for?"
Yunyi ignored her rebuttal and asked directly, "Please answer my question."
They assumed that the troublemaker might not be an ordinary person, and Yunyi wanted Deputy County Mayor Gao to speak up for her, so they didn’t think much of it.
It was only when they arrived did they realize Lian Shuzhen, who had her face wrapped in a headscarf during the hot summer, was there, and Deputy County Mayor Gao and his wife looked embarrassed.
Lian Shuzhen didn’t expect to run into her aunt and uncle here.
Seeing everyone was present, Yunyi said, "Both of your symptoms are the same, Deputy County Mayor Gao was also treated by me. He followed the prescription strictly and is basically cured now. You both have the same pharmacy and medical instructions, yet why have your symptoms worsened? That’s something you need to answer."
The reason Yunyi said this was on purpose; Deputy County Mayor Gao wanted to keep it low-key.
She just wouldn’t let him have his way.
