Looking up, they saw them: "Oh, I was just about to bring a basin of water for you to wash your hands in the sun."
Yunyi took the lunchbox from Huo Jingrui’s hands and walked toward Grandma Su: "How’s Sister Kailan doing today?"
Grandma Su laughed: "Not bad, she even helped me mix the filling and rolled the dough for the buns, and she didn’t get confused."
The two chatted, one following the other into the kitchen.
Huo Jiayuan was pouring egg mixture into the pot: "Fourth Sister-in-law, you’re back. This soup is almost ready, just wait a bit."
Yunyi smiled and set the lunchbox on the stove: "Once the buns are out of the pot, we can put the lunchbox in the water to heat it up."
Although it’s summer and the cold isn’t much of a concern, it’s still better to heat it up since it’s a meat dish.
Anyway, the water just off the boil is scorching, and this dish hasn’t cooled down completely, it should be just right.
After finishing her task, Huo Jiayuan said: "Fourth Sister-in-law, with the cooking skills I’m learning from Grandma Su, I’m sure I’ll amaze everyone."
Yunyi couldn’t help but comment: "Just this egg soup, and you’re going to amaze everyone."
As soon as she said this, not only the people in the kitchen, but even Huo Jingrui, who had just arrived at the kitchen door, couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Annoyed by their laughter, Huo Jiayuan grumbled: "Can we still get along like this?"
Yunyi quickly stifled her laughter: "Just kidding with you."
But just as she said this, seeing the egg soup in the pot made her laugh again.
After eating, Yunyi finally pulled Huo Jingrui back to the marital home they had prepared.
As soon as they entered, Yunyi’s smile faded: "The person I talked to earlier has issues."
Huo Jingrui furrowed his brows slightly: "What happened?"
Yunyi recounted exactly what she saw earlier: "What these people are planning, we don’t know yet. You’d better have someone sharp keep an eye on him, and I’ll help you sketch the faces of those people from before. You need to investigate quickly, don’t let them slip through."
Listening to this, Huo Jingrui was reminded of things he’d noticed before, feeling there might be a connection between them: "As you said, this isn’t simple. I also unintentionally discovered some things before, which seem unrelated to today, but on further thought, it might be part of a larger scheme."
They talked for a bit more, and Huo Jingrui then hurriedly left.
As he was leaving the factory, he thought he might be able to help root out some pests for the factory, making his trip worthwhile.
