Julian watched as Elena pulled up alongside him, and suddenly, he swerved!
His goal was to force Elena to the edge of the track, making it easy for her to lose control.
If she fell into the valley, resulting in a total crash and death, that would be perfect!
A ruthless glint flashed in Julian's eyes.
*Go to hell!*
He slammed the accelerator and surged toward her.
Elena had watched tapes of Julian's previous races; she knew this was his signature dirty trick.
"Oh no, Julian is trying to kill someone again!" Allan shouted anxiously as he watched the broadcast.
Even the usually composed Dylan stood up, his fists clenched tight.
His gaze was fixed unblinkingly on the screen.
Everyone was sweating bullets for Elena.
Over at the betting station, the crowd was convinced Riley was done for.
Just as Julian was about to celebrate his victory, the crowd gasped in shock.
Back on the race screen.
Elena had been expecting this move all along!
Just as Julian tried to pin her against the valley's edge, Elena suddenly gunned the throttle.
The bike actually went airborne!
She flew directly over Julian's head, landing in front of him and speeding away in a blur.
She had overtaken Julian!
Julian, on the other hand, was too hasty. He lost control. The curve here was still damp from last night's rain and hadn't dried completely.
Julian's motorcycle skidded out!
He was ejected from the seat, plummeting straight down into the valley below.
The Crowd: "..."
In that moment, you could hear a pin drop.
They couldn't believe what they had just witnessed.
Elena had not only dodged a fatal attack but reacted with superhuman speed, performing a mid-air motorcycle stunt in the process!
Only those who participated in or watched that race remembered that there was once a super racer named Riley who stood at the summit and created a myth in the racing world.
Tyler heard the chatter and curled his lips into a smirk. "Finally, someone with a brain."
Someone who hadn't forgotten his boss's former title.
He couldn't blame them; that race was overseas.
Very few people domestically knew about it because the media hadn't reported on it at all.
Any news regarding Riley had been scrubbed clean by the boss herself.
After all, she was young back then—still a minor—and needed her privacy protected.
Even if people in the racing circle knew, it was mostly through hearsay.
"Mr. Smith, I can't believe Riley won. We've made a fortune again!" Tyler's subordinate came over to report.
"Mn," Tyler responded indifferently, as if it were all expected.
"This Riley is truly amazing. Out of all these people, only one person bet on her. What kind of vision does that guy have?" the subordinate marveled.
Tyler said smugly, "That guy is me truly."
The subordinate looked surprised for a moment before quickly flattering him, "Mr. Smith is indeed Mr. Smith. You have a unique eye for talent."
