Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 139

Although it had been over a decade, Daniel's features hadn't changed much.

"It's me, Harold."

"Please, come in!"

Harold looked at Daniel with deep respect. Elena learned from Amanda that her father used to be the peacemaker of the family. He was the kindest of the brothers. Whenever a servant made a mistake, he pleaded for them. If they had financial trouble, Daniel helped. He treated everyone around him with dignity.

That was precisely why the Second and Third uncles conspired to kick him out. He was too good at winning people's hearts. The staff were all loyal to Daniel.

The Whelan estate was crowded today. The Second and Third branches were all present, along with their children.

"Ma’am! Ma’am! Master Daniel is back! And his legs... he's walking!" Harold announced excitedly as he entered the parlor.

Everyone froze. The paralyzed eldest brother could stand? Impossible! They hadn't heard a whisper of this.

All eyes turned to the entrance in disbelief. Daniel walked in wearing a sharp suit, looking vibrant and strong, with Amanda and Elena flanking him.

"Brother, your legs are healed?" Edward Whelan, the second son, was the first to ask.

"Yes," Daniel replied simply.

"Brother, congratulations! I can't believe you recovered. Why didn't you send word? We would have thrown a celebration!" The third son, Gavin, smiled, acting as if he were genuinely happy.

Facing their feigned warmth, Daniel remained cool. He looked past them to his mother, Old Mrs. Whelan.

Seeing her son standing tall, the old woman rushed forward and grabbed his hands, trembling with excitement.

Elena knew her father was too soft-spoken to fight this, so she stepped forward.

"Grandmother, if your prayers worked, why didn't Dad stand up ten years ago? And in those ten years, did you visit him even once?"

Old Mrs. Whelan glared at Elena. "When elders are speaking, children should not interrupt!"

"Grandmother, isn't today a family reunion? Are we standing on ceremony? I heard you were gravely ill, but looking at you now, you seem hale and hearty. Your voice certainly has plenty of volume," Elena said, her eyes drifting over the old woman's robust form.

Old Mrs. Whelan flinched guiltily.

She quickly covered her tracks. "I was sick! Very sick! But seeing my son recovered cured me instantly! It's the joy of a mother!"
