This fiancé had outstanding class, was incredibly handsome, and drove a luxury car! He and Elena were a perfect match.
"Michelle, let's go eat together!" Elena said to her.
Michelle quickly waved her hands. "No, no, no, I think I'll pass!"
She didn't dare be a third wheel in a situation like this. It would be too awkward.
"Let's go, it's no big deal. Didn't we agree to eat together?" Elena felt it didn't matter. One more person made no difference.
"I'm not going. You two enjoy your meal. Elena, I'm leaving first!"
After speaking, Michelle fled. She felt that if she stayed, Dylan would eat her alive. She had definitely seen that look in his eyes.
Michelle felt like she had discovered a major secret about Elena. Her fiancé was so rich and doted on her so much, yet no one in the class knew.
And she had no idea why Bianca would spread rumors that he was a delivery driver.
It was ridiculous!
After Michelle left, Dylan took Elena's hand and led her to the car.
"I'm treating you to dinner, why did you have to invite a third wheel? Elena, do you even care about me?" Dylan complained slightly.
The company had been busy these past few days, so he had even less time with Elena.
"Dylan, it's just a meal, why are you being so petty? What does it matter if she eats with us? Michelle is my friend."
"I don't care. I just want to eat with you alone! Luckily, your friend had the sense to leave."
Elena rolled her eyes at him, too lazy to respond. This man was always clinging to her; it was a bit annoying.
Seeing that Elena had stopped talking, Dylan thought she was angry and quickly changed the subject.
"By the way, Elena, what were you doing at Skyline Echo Media?"
"Taking measurements. It's an assignment from school. They liked my designs."
"No need," Elena replied calmly.
Dylan suddenly fell silent, keeping his head down and eating as if in deep thought. His sudden quietness made Elena uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?" Elena asked curiously.
Dylan looked up with a faint smile. "Nothing. Actually, I asked you out today to tell you something. I have to go abroad on a business trip soon, so I won't be able to keep you company for a while."
"Oh." Elena felt this was a minor issue.
But Dylan looked as if it were very serious.
"Elena, will you miss me while I'm gone?" Dylan asked full of anticipation.
"Probably not." She told the truth.
"I'm so heartbroken. I thought you would miss me terribly. After all, there won't be anyone to pick you up for class or eat with you."
