"Yes, Aurelis Holdings is a powerhouse! Working with them will be a huge boost for the Whelan Group's development!"
"Congratulations, Mr. Whelan." Dylan smiled faintly.
He found it odd that Aurelis Holdings would partner with a small company like theirs.
Seeing Daniel so happy, he didn't press the issue.
After breakfast, he personally drove Elena to school.
"Elena, what's going on with your family and Aurelis Holdings? Did Mr. Whelan really secure a partnership with them?" Dylan asked in the car.
"Yeah, my dad has always wanted to achieve something big. This is his first step." She naturally supported him.
"But Aurelis Holdings doesn't work with just anyone. I don't mean to look down on Mr. Whelan, but I feel like... Elena, is this your doing? Do you have contacts inside Aurelis Holdings?" Dylan suddenly shifted his focus to Elena.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Elena wasn't going to admit it easily.
She had to keep her cover.
"Before, when Aurelis Holdings turned on the Sterling Group, it happened right around the time you left the Sterling family. I think you might know someone on the inside," Dylan pressed.
This surprised Elena.
Rumor had it that Dylan was a brilliant businessman with top-tier market analysis skills.
He had even noticed these minor timing details.
Seeing Elena remain silent, Dylan didn't push further.
He reached out and held Elena's hand. "I know my Elena is amazing. If you don't want to talk about it, I won't ask again. I just hope that one day, I can be the man who holds up the sky for you!"
Elena fell silent.
The warmth from his palm made her heart tremble.
It felt as if a warm current was wrapping around her body, making her feel inexplicably safe and a little shaken.
No one had ever told her they wanted to hold up the sky for her.
It had always been her holding up the sky for others.
"I am, but go ahead."
"It's just, since the deal is a go, when should we come to sign the contract?"
Nancy paused. "Sign the contract? Didn't someone from the Whelan Group come today? No, wait, someone came to talk to me yesterday, and I agreed to sign first thing this morning! I have the paperwork ready right now!"
"What?!" Cathy was shocked.
She hadn't sent anyone!
"Wait, isn't the person in the reception room from the Whelan Group?" Nancy was confused too.
Cathy thought for a moment and realized what was happening.
"Nancy, is that person Daniel? He's my uncle. My business has nothing to do with him. I'm the one paying you! I'm the one signing with you, not my uncle! You've got the wrong person!" Cathy explained frantically.
What a mess!
She was the one paying the money, yet she had initiated contact with Nancy.
