However, the group on the ground did look miserable.
"Miss, did you do this?" the officer asked.
"Yes," Elena admitted without changing her expression.
"That's not it, Officer! They were trying to attack us..." Max hurriedly explained.
The officer didn't listen. "Come with us to the station first."
Helpless, Max got into the police car with Elena.
The men on the ground were sent to the hospital.
After all, with some coughing up blood and others suffering broken arms and legs, it was a gruesome sight.
Inside the police station.
Max was still shouting, "Let us go! We didn't do anything wrong. They tried to beat us up! Do you know who I am? I'm Max Holt of the Holt Group! Let me go..."
"Stop that racket. It's annoying. What's the situation?" two officers discussed outside.
"Just a standard brawl. A young girl actually took down seven or eight tough guys. It's terrifying. You should have seen the scene; those guys were in bad shape."
"That strong? How are we handling it?"
"How else? The girl is still a student, so we notified her family to come handle it. The other one is the young master of the Holt family. He didn't fight, but we notified his family too."
As they spoke, the two officers carefully glanced at Elena inside.
They couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. Her skills were legit.
Compared to Max, Elena appeared much more calm.
A short while later, Dylan arrived.
He had been worried sick when he received the call from the station.
How did she end up in jail?
After getting the details, he signed for Elena's release.
"Elena, are you okay?" Dylan asked with concern.
This man was usually so steady; when did he become so impulsive?
Besides, seeing how Max had stood in front of her during the crisis, proving he had some backbone, Elena didn't want to hold a grudge against him anymore.
"Fine, I'll let him off for now. But I know I'm in your heart. Otherwise, when this happened, why did you have the police call me?" Dylan secretly rejoiced.
"I... I was just worried my parents would panic if they found out," Elena explained.
Daniel and Amanda would have assumed something terrible happened and worried themselves sick, so she gave the police Dylan's number instead.
She hadn't expected him to get so narcissistic about it.
Dylan looked at her, exasperated. "Are you saying you aren't afraid I'd panic? I was worried to death! Worried you were being bullied!"
"Relax. Ordinary people can't bully me."
The only unlucky ones were that group of thugs.
"True. I heard the police say you took down seven or eight big guys by yourself. Elena, your skills are amazing!" Dylan's eyes were full of admiration and affection.
