"By the way, I heard from Patrick that my mom came to find you today. She didn't give you a hard time, did she?"
"No."
"Next time she looks for you, call me. I won't let her bully you. I want you to come to me when you have trouble, don't carry it alone."
"Mmh, I know."
Dylan put a lot of food into Elena's bowl.
"Okay, I can't eat all this."
"You're too thin. Eat more. You'll look better with a little more weight," Dylan said softly, his eyes full of doting affection.
His eyes looked at Elena with tenderness in every glance.
Just then, Elena's phone rang.
She took it out of her pocket, glanced at Dylan, and answered it.
"Boss, it's me!"
"Mmh."
"I'm home. Calling to report in. My hometown is Cresden City, and I'm back! Boss, where are you? Can I come find you?"
Elena paused.
"Boss, since you left the organization, I haven't seen you in so long. I miss you!"
"Fate will bring us together naturally," Elena said, then hung up.
That mercenary group was an organization she had founded herself.
After Fox died, and her search for the enemy Sirius proved fruitless, she had gone into hiding.
She left matters to her subordinates to manage.
Usually, she wore a mask when meeting everyone. Because of their special identities, the members basically didn't know each other's real information or what they really looked like.
She hadn't expected this one to be in the same city as her.
"Done?" Dylan asked.
"Mmh." Elena put her phone away, only then noticing the man's expression had turned colder.
Uh oh.
"That was a man, right?" Dylan asked casually.
He felt unsettled.
Why were there so many men around his treasure?
Although he hadn't heard what the other person said clearly, he could vaguely tell it was a man's voice.
It looked like Emily!
She was just about to tell Dylan to let go so she could go take a look.
But Dylan turned her head straight. "Focus!"
Elena was speechless.
"Honey, what's wrong?" a man asked the woman beside him, seeing her hide in a panic.
"No... nothing." Just saw someone she shouldn't have.
The man smiled. "You saw those two kissing and felt too shy to walk past them, right?"
Emily didn't speak. She quickened her pace, heading toward the elevator.
"Honey, don't be shy. If they can kiss, we can too!"
The man finished speaking and kissed her right there in the elevator.
Emily froze.
As they kissed, the man's hand reached under her short skirt.
Emily felt a mix of anxiety and irritation.
She was in no mood to fool around with this man right now; she couldn't let Elena see her.
