Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 274

"Chris, has Emily been acting strange lately?" Elena asked.

"No. I told Mom to keep an eye on her and tell us if she noticed anything, but she's been pretty quiet."

Emily spent her days mooching off them. Since everyone else worked, they mostly ignored her.

She seemed to be lowering her profile, rarely appearing in front of them voluntarily.

Since she wasn't doing anything excessive, Elena let it go.

She and Chris arrived at an office building. This was the company Chris intended to acquire.

The owner welcomed Chris enthusiastically. The internet company was failing, and he had no choice but to sell.

Chris had seen potential in it.

"Elena, what do you think?" Chris asked.

"It's not bad. Chris, go ahead and buy it."

With Elena's encouragement, Chris's confidence soared.

While Chris went inside to sign the contract with the owner, Elena stayed outside to look around.

Suddenly, she saw a familiar figure.

Harrison Sterling!

Harrison was holding some documents, seemingly looking for the boss, when he spotted Elena.

He froze.

Then he cursed, "It really is a small world!"

Elena wasn't going to take that lying down. "Yes, a small world indeed. I didn't expect you to be working in a tiny game company like this!"

After all, he used to be the CEO of the Sterling Group.

It seemed that after the fall of the Sterling family, their lives were indeed difficult.

Even Harrison had to come out and work for others.

Although Chris didn't know Harrison, if his sister said so, the man had to go.

"I don't care who you are. From now on, get out of here! Go to finance and settle your salary!" Chris said to Harrison.

Harrison looked at his boss. "Boss, what is this?"

The owner said apologetically, "Harrison, I'm not the owner of this company anymore. I've sold it to Mr. Whelan here. From now on, he is the boss. Everything here is up to Mr. Whelan."

"Sold? Why didn't I know the company was being sold?" Harrison was shocked.

The owner looked displeased. "The company is mine. Do I need to report to you if I want to sell it?"

Harrison was speechless.

Usually, when a company was being sold, it was kept from the lower-level employees to prevent panic.

The owner feared wages wouldn't be paid or operations would halt.

It made sense that Harrison didn't know.
