"Boss, go! We walked into a trap! Hurry!"
"Shane, get the Boss out of here!"
Shane and another subordinate grabbed Tyler, forcefully dragging him away.
Tyler was critically injured and had absolutely no stamina left to escape.
"Leave the Boss here. We'll lure them away!" Shane said.
Tyler had lost too much blood and had already passed out.
If they kept carrying Tyler, none of them would escape.
There was a pile of debris nearby with some discarded items.
Shane laid Tyler down there and covered him with the debris.
Then, they ran off to distract the enemy.
Soon, a light rain began to fall from the sky.
The rain grew heavier, and the freezing water startled Tyler awake.
His hands were covered in blood. Now, aside from the sound of the rain, there was silence.
He didn't know where his men had gone.
Suddenly, a pair of white sneakers appeared in front of him.
"Help me..." Tyler reached out a hand.
"Mr. Smith!" Michelle gasped in shock.
She threw aside her umbrella and quickly pulled the debris off him.
She helped him sit up.
"Let's go, I'm taking you to the hospital!" Michelle said frantically.
He was hurt badly, and he was soaked to the bone.
"No... I need to find my boss... call my boss... I'm begging you!"
Michelle quickly called Elena.
"Elena, you have to come save Mr. Smith! He's hurt really bad!"
Elena was asleep, but when she woke up and heard Michelle's call, she rushed out the door.
By the time she found Tyler, it was nearly dawn.
"What happened? How did he get hurt like this?"
She had watched Tyler grow up; he was like a little brother to her.
"Is this how you question your mother?"
"I asked if it was you or not!" Dylan demanded sharply.
Slap!
"Insolent!" Amber slammed her hand on the table, furious.
Looking at her, Dylan felt nothing but irony.
A woman who appeared to be a calm and serene tea master had such a terrible temper.
It seemed all those years of brewing tea had been a waste.
"Mr. Dylan, please don't upset the Madam. It had nothing to do with her!" Mira stepped forward to intervene.
"Dylan, you are truly ridiculous. For the sake of a woman, you question your mother like this? In your heart, is that woman more important than your own mother?"
"Yeah. She is," Dylan answered without hesitation.
"You... you unfilial son!" Amber was so angry her stomach hurt.
"Unfilial? Heh. I used to listen to you so well. Whatever you wanted, I got it for you. You didn't want the other women to have power, so I worked hard to take the position of CEO of the Sinclair Group. When father’s Second Wife bullied you, I vented your anger and suppressed them. I listened to you in everything, obeyed you, respected you. But in your heart, did you ever have any genuine affection for me?"
"I was waiting to die in that farmhouse upstate for two years. You never came to see me once. I waited every single day, telling myself my mother wouldn't abandon me, that she must have a compelling reason. But in two years, I didn't get a single visit! Can you even call yourself my mother?"
