"Ben! Ben!" Elena arrived at that moment.
Ben was too heavy, so she and Elise helped him up.
"Where are those people?" Elena asked.
Jones said, "Elena, they've already left. They got scared when they saw our colleagues coming."
Elena looked at Ben's colleagues. "Thank you all for your hard work today. You can go home now!"
After the colleagues left, Elena called an ambulance and sent her brother and Jones to a nearby hospital.
After the examination, it turned out to be mostly superficial wounds, though Ben's condition was more severe. There wasn't a single unbruised spot on his body.
His face was swollen like a pulp.
"Ben, how do you feel?" Elena asked.
"It doesn't hurt anymore. Elena, don't worry about me. How is Elise?" Ben asked.
Jones chimed in from the side, "You don't even ask how I am. You only care about Elise immediately. You really have no conscience."
"Jones, are you okay?" Ben asked earnestly.
Jones snorted. "I'm not okay! I'm not okay at all!"
"Jones, where does it hurt? Elena, quick, get the doctor to look at Jones!" Ben said anxiously.
Elena shook her head as she looked at Ben's naive expression.
"Ben, Jones is just joking with you! But tell me, aren't you incredibly strong? How could you not be a match for them?" Elena asked curiously.
Although her brother was a bit slow, his physical strength was immense.
Perhaps this was the window God had opened for him.
Unless they were highly trained professionals, there was no way they could have taken Ben down.
"Elise, don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. I'm happy my brother stood up for what's right. But as for the people who hurt him, I will make them pay the price."
Elise's eyes were red as she looked at the bandages wrapped around Ben's head and the injuries all over his body. She felt even more terrible.
"Elena, let me stay here and take care of Ben until he recovers."
"Alright," Elena agreed.
She could see that her brother still had feelings for Elise.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to save her.
With Elise here to take care of Ben, Elena felt at ease.
She walked out with Jones and turned to him. "Jones, thank you."
"Don't mention it. I should be thanking you. I was fired and couldn't find a job, but you found one for me. Besides, Ben and I grew up together. We're brothers. Even without your instructions, I wouldn't have sat back and watched."
