Elena paused.
She pursed her lips and smiled. "Alright, I'll give it to you straight. I remember you have a pair of high heels from the spring collection the year before last—the red ones. At the time, you said we'd do a limited release of only ten pairs globally, but you privately kept a size 7 for yourself, right?"
"Ugh! Calling me in the middle of the night... I knew it wasn't good news. Why? Did you take a liking to my shoes?"
"No, I wouldn't be caught dead in those things. They were designed for *those* people. I don't wear them."
Sienna was speechless.
She felt a throbbing headache coming on. What kind of talk was that?
A global limited edition, and she treated it like trash. She looked completely disdainful.
Those were her own designs, for crying out loud!
She treated her own creations worse than a stepmother would.
"If you don't want them, why are you asking me about them?" Sienna asked.
"Well, someone accidentally damaged a pair belonging to someone else, and they're demanding a replacement or else they'll have my head. Since we were in the wrong initially, and you have the shoes, I figured I'd just give them to her as compensation."
"Hmph! Who is this blind idiot? Demanding the great designer Aurora pay them back with shoes? If she knew *you* designed them, I wonder if she'd still dare ask for a replacement!"
"The other party is a ruthless piece of work, so yeah, probably. Just give me the shoes. You have so many, you can't possibly wear them all."
Elena knew that Sienna kept a set of every new product she designed as a collectible.
"Fine, fine, fine, I'll give them to you! But my pair is a size 7. Are you sure she can wear them?"
Sienna couldn't say no to Elena, so she gave in.
"Don't worry, she's a size 7 too. Otherwise, I wouldn't have called you."
"When do you need them?"
"Tomorrow. Package them up and send them to the Sinclair estate!"
"The Sinclair estate?" Sienna was shocked.
"They reconciled? That's wonderful. Although Justin's parents aren't great people, Justin is a good kid. We can all see that. Your father praises his work ethic all the time; he says Justin is a great help to him!"
Just then, Claire walked over.
"Elena, about the shoes..."
"Claire, don't worry about it. Dylan already handled the shoe situation for me. There's nothing he can't fix, so just relax!"
Claire breathed a sigh of relief.
After getting back, she had called Elaine Turner at LUMEN Studio and found out just how expensive those shoes were.
They really were designed by Aurora and were long out of print. Finding an identical pair would have been incredibly difficult for Elena.
Knowing Dylan was helping put her mind at ease.
"By the way, there's one more thing. Jon is about to take his college entrance exams, and he says he wants to go abroad. Elena, what do you think?" Daniel asked.
It seemed Elena had become the backbone of the family; they wanted her opinion on everything.
