“Do you really think I'm afraid of that old man, Jonathan Fairchild? Let me tell you, if you dare send people to mess with me, I'll go down swinging. I might not kill you, but I certainly won't let you off easy!”
Bianca advanced step by step, forcing Gloria to huddle in the corner, leaving her with no way to retreat.
“What are you doing... Stay back... Stay back... Oh god, no...”
“Help! Somebody help me! Mom, Dad! Help!”
“Don't kill me! Please! No... sob...”
Gloria was terrified, her entire body trembling uncontrollably.
Bianca gritted her teeth. She had never been a saint; she had always been ruthless when pushed.
She raised the hammer and brought it down hard!
Bang!
The sickening sound of bone crunching echoed through the room.
“Ahhhhh!!!!” Gloria let out a bloodcurdling scream.
Her arm had been completely shattered by Bianca.
“My hand... my hand... oh god... it hurts...” Gloria was on the verge of passing out from the pain.
The two hired thugs, seeing this, trembled on the floor, too terrified to move.
Clang—
Bianca tossed the hammer aside and glanced at the two large men.
“Get her out of here! If you ever dare come to my house again, I'll kill you both!” Bianca shouted sharply.
The two men didn't care about anything else; they just wanted to get Gloria—their employer—out of there.
They scrambled to their feet, lifted Gloria up, and carried her away.
“Mr. Maddox,” the female bodyguard, Lana, acknowledged Sean.
“Lana, wait for me outside,” Sean ordered.
“Yes, sir.”
Sean didn't look at Bianca immediately. Instead, he surveyed the room.
The layout was the same as he remembered, though some of the furniture had been replaced.
When Jane Whelan saw Sean return, she tried to go in.
But she was blocked by Lana. “Mr. Maddox said he wants to be alone. He isn't seeing anyone right now. If you have anything to discuss, leave it for tomorrow.”
Jane glared at Lana with dissatisfaction. She had seen this female bodyguard since her first day at the company.
Lana was always by Sean's side, inseparable, which made Jane a little jealous.
“Lana, where did you and Mr. Maddox go for lunch today?” Jane asked tentatively.
Sean had disappeared right after his morning meeting.
Jane had wanted to see him but couldn't find him anywhere.
“No comment,” Lana replied expressionlessly.
Seeing her attitude, Jane knew she wouldn't get anything out of her.
Lana was famous for her icy demeanor; everyone in the company knew it.
She listened to no one except Mr. Maddox.
“Fine, if you don't want to tell me, forget it!”
