Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 784

Later, Bianca called Elena to relay the entire ridiculous spectacle as an afternoon gossip session.

Elena treated it as nothing more than a passing joke.

She had zero interest in Jane's pathetic life.

But one thing was certain—from this day forward, Jane would never be able to hold her head high in the Whelan family again. Her days of faking superiority were over.

At the Whelan Old Residence.

Jane finally returned home.

Her face was hollow, and she moved as if someone had drained the very soul from her body. In a single day, she had suffered multiple crushing blows.

Lauren Whelan was taken aback when she saw her daughter.

"Jane, you're finally back! The whole family has been waiting for you. Your grandmother is about to lose her temper.

"What's wrong with you? You look awful."

When Jane left that morning, she had been glowing with pride. Now, she looked like a completely different person.

"Let's just go," Jane replied tonelessly.

She knew she had to face the music. After losing every shred of her dignity in Sean's office, she simply had nothing left to fear.

As Jane walked into the main hall, every eye locked onto her.

"Jane, speak up. Did you ruin Miss Sinclair's dress?" Old Mrs. Whelan demanded.

How were they supposed to come up with that kind of cash? The old lady tightly controlled the family's finances, and the Whelan Group hadn't been performing well lately. Raising millions was impossible for them.

"Mom, we don't have the money," Gavin muttered, keeping his head down.

"If you don't have the money, then make Jane figure it out! She caused this mess, the useless brat! All she knows is how to embarrass me!" Old Mrs. Whelan spat.

Jane lifted her head and stared directly at her grandmother. "So now I'm an embarrassment? When Uncle Edward's electronics factory was in trouble, the entire family scrambled to help, and you even forced me to beg Sean for a favor. But now that I made a mistake, you expect me to shoulder it all on my own? You didn't think I was an embarrassment back then, did you?"

The sudden defiance from the usually perfectly obedient Jane sent a shockwave through the room.

Old Mrs. Whelan, already furious, practically exploded.

"You have the nerve to talk back?! Did you or did you not cause this disaster? And now you expect the whole family to foot your bill? Have you forgotten every ounce of manners I ever taught you?!"
