At that point, he was sure the gem would be his, and the Sterlings had lost their chance!

"Of course…" Benjamin smiled awkwardly, gesturing to his subordinates through his gaze. They quickly sprang into action.

That gave Benjamin quite a scare. He always did things like that in the dark, and it was pretty much a known secret. Which head of a wealthy family could keep their hands from getting dirty?

"No way! That's just a false accusation. The gem was purchased by this man here, so he must be the one to take it away! However, Francis was trying to take it as his own, so I had no choice but to have this man stay here!" Benjamin retorted, immediately shifting the blame away.
