Reborn I Refuse To Save The Traitors (Margaery) novel Chapter 94

**Chapter 94: Severing All Ties**

With a frigid smile etched deep within her heart, Margaery closed her eyes, her mind swirling with thoughts. “Russell, if you have nothing further to say, I would prefer you leave first. I’m feeling rather fatigued.”

As Russell snapped back to reality, he noted that Margaery seemed to have already drifted into slumber.

“You—” His voice was thick with frustration, and his emotions churned within him, seeking an outlet that was nowhere to be found.

Ultimately, he stormed out, his footsteps echoing through the courtyard as he muttered under his breath, “If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have bothered coming to see you at all. Damn Clyde! Just wait until he wakes up; I’ll show him how I truly feel!”

Russell’s simmering anger felt misplaced, yet he couldn’t help but blame Clyde for Margaery’s frosty demeanor toward him.

His mind was a tempest of rage, longing to confront someone, yet the reality of Clyde’s unconscious state left him feeling isolated in his fury.

Once he departed, Margaery found herself unable to find rest either. She sat up, leaning against the plush cushion that offered little comfort.

Craig’s acupuncture and remedies had indeed worked wonders; the bleeding in her shoulder had ceased, and the pain had dulled significantly. Instead, an irritating itch now replaced it, a sign that her body was on the mend.

She held onto the hope that by the day after tomorrow, she might be able to walk again.

Casting a glance at the sky, she felt an overwhelming urge to draw a definitive line between herself and those who surrounded her.

When lunchtime arrived, Amber returned, her presence bringing both relief and concern.

“My lady, I bring news,” she said, her expression grave. “Lord Chancellor intends to summon Mark to treat Lady Tessa tonight. I fear they will require your blood again this evening.”

Amber’s gaze fell upon Margaery’s shoulder, her eyes brimming with sorrow. “It’s utterly outrageous! You’re already in such a dire state, and yet Lord Chancellor is still contemplating whether your blood can be of use. Does Lady Tessa’s life hold more value than yours?”

“If you hadn’t grown up in the Chancellor’s estate, and my mother wasn’t your wet nurse, I’d almost think you weren’t their biological child! What kind of parents behave like this? It’s infuriating!”

Margaery listened intently, taking Amber’s words to heart.

If all went as expected, tonight’s blood test would likely confirm that Tessa was indeed Raul’s biological daughter, while Margaery would be branded as an impostor.

In that scenario, her departure from the Chancellor’s estate would be entirely justified.

She wished for Tessa’s success, even as her own fate hung in the balance.

Margaery picked at her rice, her thoughts racing. “Go find Joshua, and tell him I am willing to donate blood for Tessa. But once it’s done, any notion of a sisterly bond between me and Tessa will be severed. We will be even.”

There had to be stipulations in place; otherwise, suspicion would arise too easily.

Amber hesitated, her heart aching. “Lady Margaery, do you truly still wish to give her your blood?”

As she spoke, tears spilled from her eyes, a testament to her heartache.

“It won’t be much, just a drop or two,” Margaery reassured her, attempting to soothe Amber’s distress.

She reached out, gently ruffling Amber’s hair. “Once I discover that I am not a daughter of the Wallen family, I will take you away from here. We will never have to endure life with the Chancellor’s estate again.”

Amber blinked, momentarily taken aback by Margaery’s words.

After a moment, she exclaimed in surprise, “Lady Margaery, are you hoping that your blood and your father’s won’t match?”

Her previous worries about Tessa scheming against Margaery faded as the realization dawned that Margaery hoped to not be linked to the Wallen family at all.

This sentiment was, perhaps, entirely understandable.

After all, every member of the Wallen family had treated Margaery poorly, while showering Tessa with affection.

Amber sighed deeply, her heart heavy for her lady.

Margaery turned her gaze toward the window, her voice steady. “It’s not that I wish for it; it’s simply that Tessa will ensure there is no compatibility. She has long sought to cast me out of the Chancellor’s estate.”

Then, shifting the conversation, she added, “But perhaps this is a blessing in disguise for us. Go find Joshua and inform him to come to my room for the blood draw. I’m unable to move about.”

Amber felt a profound weight settle in her chest, realizing just how pitiful Margaery truly was—driven from her own home by someone who didn’t belong there.

Yet, maybe it was for the best not to remain. There was nothing worth longing for in such a place.
