Qin Wenhao had just turned his head when he saw a young woman hurry over to him.
"Qin Tuan, what a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into you here. Are you heading back now?"
Ruan Hongfei looked at the man before her with delight.
She hadn’t expected to run into him here.
’Wasn’t this fate? Why else would I run into him on the exact day I was returning to the base from leave?’
’It feels like he came just to pick me up.’ At this thought, a sweet feeling blossomed in Ruan Hongfei’s heart.
Although Qin Wenhao didn’t typically pay attention to other women, his memory was excellent.
So, of course, he recognized the woman before him as the star of their base’s Art Troupe.
"Do you need something?"
"Qin Tuan, if you’re heading back to the base, would it be alright if I caught a ride? I’m heading back as well."
Ruan Hongfei gazed at Qin Wenhao, her eyes filled with affection.
Qin Wenhao rejected her outright. "It’s not convenient. I have other business. Find your own way back."
With that, he pulled open the car door and got in.
Ruan Hongfei had been all set to get into the car; she never imagined Qin Wenhao would actually refuse her.
The rejection left her utterly stunned.
Seeing him about to drive off, she panicked and immediately grabbed hold of the car window.
"Qin Tuan, what other business do you have? I could wait here for you while you run your errands. I don’t have a ride, and with all this luggage, it’s really hard for me to get back to the base."
When Qin Wenhao saw her clutching the car window, his face instantly darkened.
His gaze was sharp. "Let go."
Ruan Hongfei met his gaze and instinctively let go.
The moment she released her grip, Qin Wenhao slammed on the gas and drove off.
Ruan Hongfei hadn’t expected him to just drive off like that. Her eyes immediately welled with tears.
