Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry! novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Scumbag is in for It

"Song Yan, you have to think of something! My brother can’t be locked up in that place. If he is, what will be left of our family’s reputation? Besides, if he’s locked up, won’t his life be ruined? Who would dare to marry him in the future?"

"My parents are still waiting for grandchildren!"

Mrs. Bai immediately chimed in, "That’s right, my son can’t be ruined. He’s the Bai Family’s only male heir. This is absolutely unacceptable—"

Father Bai was anxious too.

After all, the Bai Family was counting on this son to carry on the family line!

"Song Yan, don’t you have a buddy at the police station? You have to find a way to save our Chunsheng. He’s counting on you, his brother-in-law."

Father Bai deliberately emphasized the term "brother-in-law."

"—Alright, I’ll go see what I can do. But if it doesn’t work out, then we’ll just have to—"

Mrs. Bai wanted to say he absolutely had to be rescued, but before she could even open her mouth, Father Bai gave her a sharp tug.

She had no choice but to reluctantly shut her mouth.

Father Bai sighed, his voice heavy. "It’s fine. As long as you do your best. The Bai Family doesn’t have any other connections; we can only rely on you."

Don’t be fooled by his usual fondness for drinking and a bit of gambling.

His performance was in no way inferior to that of the mother-daughter duo.

Song Yan left the Bai Family’s home.

After some thought, he headed toward Fu Mingxue’s house.

As it happened, Fu Mingxue was getting ready to go to the police station. She had just wheeled her bicycle out when she saw Song Yan walking toward her.

Her face darkened instantly—’What rotten luck.’

"Fu Mingxue, let’s talk—"

His shamelessness astounded her.

She sneered, "Song Yan, where do you get the nerve to talk to me? Get lost! Don’t make me scream!"

"Are you fucking deaf? Don’t call me Auntie. Now, immediately, right this instant, get the hell out of my sight."

Mrs. Fu was utterly imperious.

Seeing the growing crowd of onlookers, Song Yan could only turn to leave.

Just then, he saw a man not far away and was startled.

He quickly walked over. "Qin... Qin Tuan, what... what are you doing here?"

’How much of that had Qin Tuan heard?’

"What? Qin Tuan?" Mrs. Fu darted over, moving much faster than Song Yan could speak. "Sir, are you his superior? I want to report him."

The color drained from Song Yan’s face. "Auntie, you... don’t talk nonsense—"

Mrs. Fu’s voice was even louder than his:

"What do you mean, ’nonsense’? I was originally planning to write a formal complaint letter, but with a leader right here, this is even better! Sir, this man, Song Yan, covers for criminals and tries to persecute my daughter! You have to investigate him thoroughly. Someone like him is completely unfit to remain in the army."
