"Look, Dad won’t even let you into his study. How can you compare him to Mingxue? That means her room is even more off-limits."
Qin Wenying’s words startled Mrs. Qin.
"Fine, I won’t go in. And I never have—I only went in a few times before they moved here. When they weren’t living at home, I had to clean the room, didn’t I? But since Mingxue moved in, I haven’t just gone in unannounced. Do you really think I have no sense of boundaries?"
She wouldn’t just enter her daughter-in-law’s room for no reason.
Her earlier offer to pack the clothes was just a momentary lapse.
It was only because time was so short; she was afraid her daughter-in-law wouldn’t have time to pack when she got back.
At this point, Mr. Qin spoke up. "From now on, when Mingxue is away, just keep that door locked. Also, tell Yu Yu and Qiaoqiao not to go into their aunt’s room."
"They wouldn’t just wander in." Mrs. Qin had that much faith in her grandchildren.
Her grandson and granddaughter weren’t the type of kids to cause trouble.
Qin Wenying didn’t stay any longer. "I’m going back upstairs for a bit."
They had an hour anyway, so she went upstairs to take a shower.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Qin had begun to worry about something else.
"If Mingxue leaves tonight, what are we going to do tomorrow morning when the twins wake up and their mother is gone?"
Just today, the two of them had been at the front gate, staring longingly down the road for her.
And just a moment ago, it had been a real struggle to get them to sleep.
They had insisted on fighting to keep their heavy eyelids open, wanting to wait for their mother to come home before they slept.
Thankfully, they were eventually coaxed to sleep.
When Mr. Qin heard this, he just said, "We’ll comfort them tomorrow."
Mrs. Qin supposed he was right.
’What else could they do?’
Luckily, the two children weren’t the type to be particularly fussy.
"You should boil some eggs for Mingxue and the others. Other things will get cold easily, but eggs won’t. They’ll be perfect to eat on the road tonight."
Mr. Qin’s words made his wife’s eyes light up.
