Zhao Sisi couldn’t believe it. She’d called out to Qin Wenshu, yet the man just stood there, frozen in place.
She was furious and frantic. "Qin Wenshu, you have to help me—"
Qin Wenshu made it clear he wouldn’t help.
"This is your fault. You knocked over my sister-in-law’s rice, so just put it back. Why did you have to say all those nasty things? You made this mess, so you fix it."
He’d been fed up with her for a long time.
Yet, because of the connection between their two families, he could never really do anything about it.
Zhao Sisi was in disbelief.
She couldn’t believe Qin Wenshu would actually say something like that.
"Qin Wenshu, you bastard—"
"You’d better apologize to my sister-in-law and put that rice back. Otherwise, if this really goes to the police station, my only choice will be to back her up."
Qin Wenshu was just adding fuel to the fire.
Zhao Sisi was so furious she could have spat blood.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
"Qin Wenshu, you bastard! I won’t let any of you get away with this! Fine, I’ll pick it up! I’ll pick up the rice—"
At that last cry, Fu Mingxue stopped in her tracks.
She looked down at the sobbing girl, her heart completely unmoved. "Then hurry up and pick it up. Otherwise, even if you run away, I’ll just have Qin Wenhao find you at your house."
Zhao Sisi’s face turned livid with rage.
’This bitch is nothing but a petty opportunist—she’s only acting tough because she has Qin Wenhao!’
’Fine. She’d pick it up.’
She roughly wiped away her tears and climbed to her feet. Once she had scooped all the rice back into the bag, she could no longer stand the humiliation and ran off, sobbing.
Fu Mingxue stared blankly at the few grains of rice still scattered on the ground.
’Her perfectly good white rice was now full of dirt and grit.’
