Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry! novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: In What Capacity Are You Standing Up for Her?

And believe it or not, some people actually fell for her act.

They started blaming the postman, one after another.

The postman, now the target of their accusations, flushed with anger.

"That’s nonsense! You’re the one who told me you were Fu Mingxue. That’s the only reason I gave you the acceptance letter. I was on my bike, and didn’t you stop me? Weren’t you the one asking about Fu Mingxue’s acceptance letter?"

"I was just getting it for Fu Mingxue—"

Fu Mingxue scoffed, "Hah. What are we to each other? Did I need you to get it for me? And what were you doing, waiting specifically in that alley?"

"I was just trying to be helpful—"

"Helpful enough to take my university acceptance letter and attend college in my place? You really are one of a kind. So refreshingly shameless! To say something so disgraceful with such a straight face, as if it were the most natural thing in the world."

"Officer, I want to press charges. She failed today, but who’s to say she won’t target someone else tomorrow? Going to college changes a person’s entire life, and she tried to steal someone else’s so casually. The nature of this act is absolutely despicable."

The neighbors were stunned by Bai Siqi’s shameless words.

It was as if they were meeting her for the very first time.

’How could she be this kind of person?’

’How could she have the nerve to steal someone’s university acceptance letter?’

Bai Siqi’s expression was frozen, her eyes burning red.

She knew her reputation had been utterly destroyed by Fu Mingxue and her mother.

’What do I do now?’

A frantic panic seized her.

Especially when the police officer said to her, "Bai Siqi, please come with us for questioning."

Mrs. Bai immediately jumped in front of Bai Siqi. "No, you can’t take my daughter! Even if she did something wrong, I’m the one who forced her to do it. If you have to take someone, take me!"

The crowd was dumbfounded.

He gave her a reassuring look, a silent promise that he would handle everything.

He turned to face the officer.

"Hello, Officer. Which precinct are you from?"

The officer looked at him. "Xicheng Police Station. What about it?"

"This is the Dongcheng district. The Dongcheng Police Station has jurisdiction here. I don’t believe you can take her away."

Fu Mingxue immediately cut in. "Tsk, look at this. The military’s reach really is long. I was the one who called the police. I know your childhood friend works at the Dongcheng Police Station, and what I want is a fair investigation."

"Besides, what right do you have to interfere?"

A dark glint flashed in Song Yan’s eyes at Fu Mingxue’s question.

He turned to face Fu Mingxue.

"Fu Mingxue, I don’t know why you’re going after Bai Siqi, but even if she made a small mistake, it’s not something you need to call the police over. And as for who I am to her? She is the mother of my children. Even though we’re divorced, I can’t just stand by and watch her be wronged. How would I be able to face my three children?"
