The next day, Qin Wenhao woke up bright and early.
When he got out of bed, he glanced over at Fu Mingxue.
Seeing that her blanket only covered half of her, he hesitated for a couple of seconds before walking over to pull it up for her.
The moment he touched the blanket, Fu Mingxue jolted awake and snapped, "What do you think you’re doing?"
Qin Wenhao was speechless. ’...Is she taking me for some kind of pervert?’
His face instantly darkened. In a gruff voice, he said, "I was pulling up your blanket."
Fu Mingxue was wide awake now.
She said, embarrassed, "Sorry. I—I’m just not used to this yet!"
’Oh, god. This is so awkward.’
’And besides, why was he being so nice?’
’Anyone would get a huge scare if they were woken up first thing in the morning by a man pulling at their blanket.’
Qin Wenhao looked at her. "Looks like I’ll have to get you used to it sooner rather than later."
Fu Mingxue was speechless. ’...?’
’That really won’t be necessary.’
"You’re up so early? How are the children? Do they have fevers?"
"No."
Qin Wenhao turned to leave.
He took a few steps, then turned back. "It’s only five-thirty. You can go back to sleep."
But Fu Mingxue couldn’t possibly sleep now.
She quickly got out of bed. "I don’t have any toiletries here. Since the two kids are still asleep, I’ll head home for a bit and come back later."
Qin Wenhao nodded. "Alright. You don’t need to rush back. It’s fine if you come later."
Fu Mingxue calmly put on her jacket.
Before leaving, she felt both children’s foreheads, and only left after making sure their temperatures were normal.
Qin Wenhao took note of her actions.
It took Fu Mingxue a twenty-minute walk to get back to her front door.
"Mom, open the door."
