Dario looked down at me “Are you okay?” He asked and I nodded even though I was still shaken up. When I moved my hand I saw bright red. Panic hit me hard and fast . "Dario, you're hurt." I said my voice shaking.

I heard running , Dad, uncle Pascal and security details rushed over to help him up. Thats when I saw all the blood, and the horror hit me full force. If Dario hadn't shielded me , then I would have been crushed by the stone that fell.

I started to sway, and the floor came up to my face. Someone yelled my name but it sounded so far away and i knew I was about to pass out again.

When my eyes opened, I jumped up and Elena grabbed onto me. "Dario, where's Dario?" I asked hurriedly.

I tried to get off the bed, I was panicking but Ella grabbed. "He's okay. He lost a lot of blood, but he's okay, trust me." Ella said.

"Where is he? I want to see him," I said.

"Let her go." Grandmother said.

I rushed out of the room, and thats when I realized the house had been destroyed. I froze on the landing, looking down. It was all destroyed.

I saw Dario walking in and I ran down the stairs, when I reached him, I grabbed onto him and hugged him, I started crying.

"I'm okay, kitten, I promise," He said softly, comforting me.

"You could have died, you idiot." I said through tears.

"I didn't, I won't ever let you get hurt." he said softly.

I helped him up to our room and helped him into bed.

When I headed back down, people in cleaning gear were clearing the house out. I found Carlton sitting in a chair by a newly fixed window looking lost. I walked over and touched his shoulder.

He looked up. "You're sure you're okay, sweetheart?" he asked.

"I am. How are you holding up?" I asked.

"They did this. They brought this disaster into your life and mine and the Valteris'." Carlton said with a sigh.

"They can't accept it. They still want it all. Stop worrying about it, we'll handle it." I said with a sigh. He nodded and patted my hand.

I went looking for my father and found him in the kitchen. He was drinking. I sat down opposite him but didn't say anything. He took a drink and looked at me, "I'll never give him shit again. He didn't even hesitate for a second. He just threw himself over you. Most men would only protect themselves." he said.

Just then Uncle Pascal walked in and walked over and kissed my head. "You're safe. Dario is really hurt, he lost a lot of blood. Anyone that would willingly throw themselves over the woman they love not thinking about themselves is a man worth keeping in our books," Uncle Pascal said.

"The entire time at the hospital, he kept asking if you were fine, if you were safe. He made us call Elena to see if you were really okay," her father said.

I sighed, "What are we going to do about this? Russo, Caroline, and Nysa. I had her here and I let her go. I told her to disappear or I'll kill her." I said.

Dad looked at me, "Do you?" he asked.

"Yes, but I have a specific way." I said.

"I had the men check. After we introduced Nyxara, Russo became interested. He had people watching us. He looked into the whole situation on who Nysa and Caroline were, and it looked like when you let her go, he was already waiting for her. He probably offered her a chance to get back everything and make you pay, and she and Caroline accepted it." Uncle Pascal said.

Just then Carlton walked in and spotted us . "They are at the house. Joseph, the butler, called me. Said they are in the house relaxing, both Caroline and Nysa," Carlton said.
