REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 43
Dario’s pov
The morning sun was already baking the patio, but the air out here felt about ten degrees colder than it should have.
Hours earlier, I’d been wrapped around Nyxara in the dark, my hands were still burning from the way she had unraveled beneath me, her skin was bruised purple with the marks I’d left on every inch of her skin . I really didn't want to leave her but when my phone ran up and I saw it was Julian and he said he had it. I left and headed to the company.
It was one Am when I walked in and he dropped the heavy file onto my desk. It was complete with timestamped photos, text logs, and high-definition video proof of Nysa cheating. I tucked it into my jacket and made it back to the estate.
I hadn’t intended to use it today. Honestly, I had decided to hold it as leverage for later. But the second I walked back through the front doors of the estate this morning, Nysa was already waiting like a rabid dog, foaming at the mouth.
While I had been busy between Nyxara’s thighs last night, the little minx that she was videoed it all and I knew she would use it, I didn't expect her to use it so soon. Nysa was unhinged and paranoid, And I knew she had gotten the footage. She didn't even wait for me to take off my jacket; she came lunging across the foyer, screaming at the top of her lungs, shoving her phone right into my face with the video playing.
She thought she had me by the throat. She thought she could trap me, blackmail me, force me into submission. She had no idea who she was dealing with.
So here we were, sitting out on the sunlit patio, me, my parents, Nysa, and her pathetic excuse for parents. Nyxara, Bianca and Mia were just standing there. I hadn’t bothered raising my voice. I hadn’t even bothered saying a single damn world. I had simply pulled the manila folder out of my jacket and , tossed it across the glass table, and let it slide right in front of Nysa.
Nysa’s smug, screaming expression shattered the second her eyes dropped to the contents spilling out of the folder. High-res photos of her sprawling across another man's bed, text messages detailing her absolute infidelity, time stamps from just days ago. The color drained from her face so fast she looked like a corpse.
The phone slipped out of her trembling fingers, clattering against the glass table, and instantly she dropped to pieces, grabbing the edge of the table and starting a pathetic, blubbering routine of apologizing and pleading, her voice cracking into high-pitched whimpers.
She started accusing Nyxara, she was right. In every sense, her little sister was the one ruining her but she couldn’t prove it. She started saying something about killing Nyxara but Caroline clamped her hands over her mouth , dragging her off the patio.
Right on cue, my mother didn't even blink. She set her teacup down with a sharp clink, looked straight across the table at Carlton.
"Well, Carlton," my mother said, her tone dripping with polite, icy disdain. "It's quite clear Nysa isn't a fit to carry the Valteri name. But Nyxara... Nyxara... she would make an exceptional daughter-in-law."
Inwardly, a dark satisfaction coiled deep in my gut. My mother did exactly what I knew she would do. She was all in on it. After my explanation , they could see it very cleary , her doubts about Nyxara being just like Nysa were no longer relevant.
I didn't flinch. I just leaned back in my chair, crossing one ankle over my knee, and let my dark gaze sweep across the patio until it landed on the doorway.
Nyxara was standing there in the shadows of the threshold, frozen in absolute shock, her violet eyes wide as she stared at me. She hadn't seen this coming. She hadn't known I was going to blow the whole board up right here in broad daylight. I let a slow, wicked smirk curl across my mouth, locking eyes with my girl. The game had just changed, and she was mine.
