REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 58

"Speaking of family," he added, his tone dipping into something a bit more curious as he tilted his head. "You've been awfully quiet about your own lately. What exactly do you have planned for your sister?" he asked.

I held his gaze, the satisfaction of my unfolding revenge burning bright and warm in my chest. I didn't break, and I didn't give away a single detail of the traps Leo and Chloe were currently laying out for Nysa.

Instead, I reached up, my fingers lightly brushing a stray lock of dark hair away from his forehead, and offered him a sweet smile.

"Soon," I whispered, my voice dripping with dark promise. "You'll find out soon enough."

He let out a low, rumbling laugh that vibrated against my ribs, clearly thrilled by the dark, ruthless streak hiding just beneath my polished exterior. He didn't press me any further, just tightening his grip around my waist as the car continued its smooth ride through the night, carrying us back toward the sprawling gates of the Valteri estate.

The car drove through the gates of the Valteri estate and rolled up the stone driveway before coming to a quiet halt. When the driver opened the door, Dario stepped out first, offering a hand to help me slide out. We walked up the front steps together, but the moment the double doors swung open, it was very clear that the entire household was in a state of high alert.

The house staff were buzzing everywhere, rushing across the foyer with armfuls of fresh linens, polishing brass fixtures, and vacuuming rugs in frantic preparation for the weekend visitors. Before Dario and I could even take two steps past the threshold, Elena appeared out of nowhere like a polite, impeccably dressed whirlwind. With a warm, welcoming smile, she smoothly cut in between us, looping her arm through mine and gently tugging me away from Dario before he could even protest.

"Come along, sweetheart," she murmured affectionately, steering me past the main staircase and directly toward the living room. "Leave my son alone for a moment; we have much more important matters to attend to." she said.

As we crossed the threshold into the living room, I blinked in surprise. The entire space had been turned into a high-end luxury boutique. Several rolling racks were packed to the brim with glittering designer gowns, silk garments, and heavy garment bags, stretching across the floor.

Sitting gracefully on a settee near the bay windows was Grandmother, looking up from a tablet with an sharp, assessing eye. I walked over, dropping a polite kiss on her weathered cheek and offering a warm smile.

"Good afternoon, Grandmother," I greeted smoothly, stepping back to take in the absolute chaos of the room. "What on earth is happening in here today?"

Before Grandmother could answer, Ella bounced over from behind one of the racks, holding up a sparkling emerald-green silk dress in one hand and a midnight-blue velvet piece in the other.

"Which one?" Ella demanded immediately, thrusting both hangers toward me with wide, expectant eyes. "We are losing our minds over here, Nyx. You have to pick one right now before Bianca steals the good ones." she said.

Almost on cue, Bianca materialized from the opposite side of the room, clutching a stunning blush-pink tulle gown covered in hand-stitched crystals. She held it up right beside Ella's options, grinning widely. "Ignore her, sis. Look at this one. It screams high-society dominance without trying too hard. Tell Ella her green choice looks like a vintage sofa." Bianca said.

"Hey!" Ella gasped, tossing a decorative throw pillow straight at Bianca's head, which Bianca gracefully ducked.

Elena let out an amused sigh, shaking her head at her daughters before turning her attention back to me. "Ignore these two heathens. We are choosing your gown for the official engagement party this Saturday," Elena explained, gesturing broadly to the overwhelming racks of clothing.

"The guest list is massive, the elite will be watching every move you make, and you need to look like the absolute queen of this city. So, go on. Browse through the racks and tell us what catches your eye." she said.
