Summary for Chapter 70: REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess (Nyxara)

REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 70

Nyxara's POV

We were still out on the patio, the cool night breeze brushing against my skin while I was against his chest. My legs were locked tight around his waist and my back pressed against the wall as he held me up against the pillar.

Then, a sharp sound cut through the silence. Someone cleared their throat loudly from the doorway. We both froze. I snapped my head to the left, my eyes widened slightly.

Pedro, my newly discovered father, and his godfather was standing right there in the doorway, watching us with unamused expressions.

My father crossed his arms, staring straight at Dario. "We need to talk." he said in a no nonsense tone. Dario set me down on my feet instantly, a rare flicker of pure panic flashing across his face. It was honestly hilarious.

Even though Dario ran a massive empire, and made grown men shake in their boots, he looked genuinely terrified of his godfather, who also happened to be his brand-new father-in-law.

I bit my lip to keep from laughing out loud, smoothing down my shirt and stepping away from the pillar. "I'll leave you gents to it," I muttered, flashing Dario a teasing grin before slipping past the my father and heading back inside the quiet house.

Dario's POV

I watched her walk away, feeling every ounce of my usual authority evaporate into thin air as Pedro stepped closer.

"Sit," Pedro said, his tone leaving zero room for argument. I took a seat on one of the patio chairs, feeling like a teenager caught breaking curfew. "Godfather, let me explain…"

Before I could finish, Pascal stepped out through the doorway, pulled up an extra chair, and sat down backward, resting his forearms on the backrest as he stared holes right through me. The combined pressure of two mafia bosses looking at me like I was a bug under a microscope was intense.

I let out a long, defeated sigh, holding up a hand. "Godfather, Uncle Pascal. She is still pure. Yes, we are legally married, but I haven't forced her into anything. I respect her, and I am willing to wait on her terms." I said.

Pedro studied my face for a long, agonizing moment, his eyes narrowing. Finally, he let out a short breath. "Well, I certainly hope it stays that way." he said.

He pulled up another chair and sat down across from me, his expression turning stone cold. "Now, we have another issue. She is now a mafia heiress. Her world and your world have officially collided, and the public eye is going to notice it. How do you plan to handle that?" he asked.

I didn't even hesitate. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, letting every bit of my cold, unyielding resolve show in my eyes.

"I really don't give a fuck," I told them flatly. "She is mine, and that fact isn't changing for anyone. I'll do whatever she wants, and right now, what she wants is bloody revenge. She'll get her payback against the Vexari family first, before anything else even matters."

Nyxara's POV

After slipping away from the patio and leaving Dario to face the music with my father and uncle, I headed straight upstairs to my bedroom. The hot water in the shower felt incredible, washing away the lingering dust of the long evening and the lingering shock of the genetic tests.

I skipped real pajamas, opting for an oversized cotton t-shirt with nothing underneath instead, the soft fabric falling loosely against my skin.

I crawled under the covers, pulling the blankets up to my waist. But sleep was a million miles away.

My mind raced, running through a hundred different scenarios on how to systematically dismantle Nysa’s life. I wanted her to feel every ounce of the isolation and cruelty she had forced upon me for eighteen years.

I wanted her to watch her social standing, her safety, and her precious control slip through her fingers grain by grain before she even realized that I knew who she really was. I weighed options, discarding the messy ones, until a chillingly perfect plan finally clicked into place in my head. I was going to strip everything away from her before I let her know.

Just as my eyelids started to get heavy and I started drifting toward the edge of sleep, a soft click echoed from the doorway. My eyes snapped open.
