Chapter 72: Chapter 72: No Contact Information, Where Am I Supposed to Find Her?

Soon, paramedics arrived and lifted the still-unconscious man onto a gurney. The lead doctor looked at the rash on the man’s skin and asked a man standing nearby, "Was any first aid administered?"

The man nodded repeatedly. "He had stopped breathing. This lady stepped in and performed first aid just in time."

As he spoke, he looked at Jasmine Sterling, his eyes filled with gratitude.

Just then, an exhausted Jasmine Sterling was being helped to her feet by her daughter and sister. Hearing his words, she simply gave a weak smile.

The doctor nodded. "It’s anaphylactic shock. Timely first aid was crucial. The patient has resumed breathing on his own, so his life is no longer in danger. You can rest assured."

As he spoke, the man was loaded into the ambulance. The doctor quickly added, "You’ll have to come with us to the hospital."

"Okay."

One of the man’s companions walked up to Jasmine Sterling and said emotionally, "Ma’am, we can’t thank you enough. Would it be possible to get your contact information?"

"It was the least I could do. Please, don’t worry about it," Jasmine Sterling said quickly.

But the man insisted, "It may have been a small effort for you, but to us, it’s the gift of life. Please, you must give us a way to contact you."

Seeing his insistence, Jasmine Sterling looked troubled and said, "I don’t have a business card. You should hurry to the hospital."

Yvonne Sterling, knowing her sister’s personality, chimed in, "Saving him is the priority. You should go."

The man hesitated, then pulled a business card from his pocket and offered it. Jasmine Sterling instinctively took it as the man said with great earnestness, "Please, you must contact us!"

After saying this, the man turned and hurried out of the restaurant.

With the scare over, the restaurant soon returned to normal. Cecilia Sterling and the others went back to their seats. Yvonne Sterling, still looking at her sister in astonishment, said, "Sis, I had no idea you knew first aid!"

Some of the other diners who had witnessed the entire event were still looking her way. Jasmine Sterling smiled bashfully and explained in a low voice, "My company often holds employee training sessions, and first aid is one of the topics. It’s mainly to handle emergencies with hotel guests. Anaphylactic shock is a fairly common one, so they made a point of teaching us the proper response."

"Besides, CPR and artificial respiration are very versatile and common first aid techniques that apply to many situations."

Yvonne Sterling sighed. "Well, it’s a good thing you were here. Didn’t you hear the doctor? If you hadn’t performed first aid right away, that man’s life would have been in danger."

Jasmine Sterling smiled and glanced down at the business card. The man who’d given it to her was named Sanders, an assistant to a company chairman.

Just then, their food began to arrive, brought by the restaurant manager.

"Ma’am, hello. I’m the manager of this restaurant."

The manager was a sharp, middle-aged woman with short hair. She looked at Jasmine Sterling with gratitude and said, "Thank you so much for your kind deed just now. On behalf of the restaurant, we would like to offer you this meal on the house, to show our appreciation and respect."

Jasmine Sterling quickly tried to refuse. "Oh, no, you don’t have to do that. You’re too kind. I couldn’t possibly accept."

The manager smiled gently. "This isn’t just a courtesy; it’s the right thing for our restaurant to do. Ma’am, you must accept our gratitude."

Jasmine Sterling was about to refuse again, but Cecilia Sterling cut in, "Then we thank you. We accept."
