“Let me go.” Isabella pried at his fingers. Chase didn’t think a little
girl would have much strength, but the next second his hand was
forced open. Isabella pushed him away, looking impatient. “Don’t
bother me.”
Isabella walked quickly toward the auction entrance. Two uniformed
and armed security personnel stood there. Chase just glanced over
and frowned deeply, not daring to imagine what kind of trouble
Isabella would cause. He suppressed his anger and went after her.
The two security personnel had already coldly intercepted Isabella.
“Hello, please show your invitation.”
Chase’s expression looked terrible. How could Isabella have an
invitation?
He grabbed Isabella’s arm with one hand and apologized to the two
security personnel: “Sorry, she went the wrong way. I’ll take her away
right now. My apologies.”
Then he turned to look at Isabella. “See? This isn’t a place people like
you and me can just walk into. Come back with me now!”

Chapter 48
“If you want to go back, go back by yourself.” Isabella gave him a cold
glance, pulled out an invitation from her pocket, and showed it to the
security personnel. Chase’s expression changed as he looked at the
invitation in Isabella’s hand. “How do you have…”
Isabella ignored him completely and walked straight in.
“Wait…”
Chase instinctively tried to follow, but was stopped by the security
personnel. “Sir, please show your invitation.”
Chase naturally didn’t have an invitation. He was blocked outside, watching helplessly as Isabella’s figure disappeared from view, his lips pressed tight and his jaw tensed.
How could Isabella have an invitation to this kind of event? How did
he not know anything about it? For the first time, Chase felt that Isabella, his biological sister, was so unfamiliar to him.
When Isabella sat down, the auction had already started. The host was introducing the first item: a piece of jade. Isabella glanced at it and looked away, waiting quietly.

Chapter 48
After some time had passed, it was finally the turn of item number 10. “Our tenth auction item, an elegantly designed autoharp.” The host’s voice rang out. “Starting bid, ten thousand dollars.”
“Twenty thousand dollars.”
“Thirty thousand dollars.”
“Fifty thousand dollars.”
This autoharp wasn’t particularly valuable, and its collectible value wasn’t high either. It was far less popular than the previous items, so the bids were sparse and the pace was slow. Clearly not many people
were interested in it.
Fifty thousand dollars was already far above market price.
The auction hall fell into a moment of silence.
“Fifty thousand dollars.” The host looked at the audience below. “Is there a higher bid? Fifty thousand dollars once…”
A man’s voice came from a corner on the left side of the auction hall.
“Sixty thousand dollars.”
Isabella glanced in that direction. It was a trendy–looking young man

wearing a red checkered shirt. Sheraised her paddle. “One hundred
thousand dollars.”
The host looked at her. It was just an ordinary autoharp. Selling it for
fifty thousand dollars already exceeded market price. He didn’t expect someone would be willing to pay one hundred thousand dollars for it.
“Five hundred thousand dollars!” The young man in the checkered
shirt called out unhurriedly, while also glancing toward Isabella, his eyes full of smugness and disdain.
Next to the checkered shirt young man stood a silver–haired youth in
a black jacket, with the air of an entitled scion.
“Benjamin White, what’s going on? Why is someone else bidding on
this? Did the information leak out?”
Benjamin withdrew his gaze from Isabella and casually played with the silver ring on his finger, unconcerned. “You’re overthinking it. She’s just a little girl.” It was normal for a young girl to think the autoharp was pretty and want to bid on it.
Isabella raised her paddle, her tone flat: “One million dollars.”
Benjamin was a bit shocked. He thought he had heard wrong. “One million dollars? Are you kidding me?”
