Seeing the smile on Scarlett’s face, Isabella couldn’t help recalling fragments of her past life.

In her past life, after she and Violet became desk mates, they had gradually grown close. Naturally, she learned that Scarlett was Violet’s roommate. At first, Violet often mentioned Scarlett in front of her, and from her tone, it was obvious they shared a good relationship.

But later, probably after the first monthly exam, Violet began complaining about Scarlett frequently. She said Scarlett had become like a completely different person: cold, distant and sharp–tongued, always hurting her with careless words. Violet was deeply hurt by her and eventually cut off all contact with Scarlett.

At the time, Isabella hadn’t thought much of it. Only now did she realize that those easily overlooked details followed a pattern.

Scarlett must have realized that Violet would eventually find out about her being bullied, so she had chosen to distance herself first, deliberately cutting ties to keep Violet and the others from being dragged into it.

Isabella let out a quiet sigh.

Scarlett was just too kind.

The group ordered their food and carried their trays to a long table.

Isabella piled her tray high, food stacked like a small mountain.

Violet looked at her with a smile. “Looks like our little princess has quite the appetite.”

“If that’s not enough, I still have a bowl of pan–fried dumplings. I can give them to you.”

Isabella bit into her bun. ‘I need a lot of energy, so I eat a lot.”

“Energy?‘ Violet raised her pretty eyebrows. “Are you training for some kind of sport?”

‘No.‘ Isabella shook her head.

Her master used to put her through intense physical training every day, so she’d developed these eating habits.

Scarlett seemed to remember something and said to Violet, ‘Isabella seems really strong.”

She’d seen Isabella fight with Elizabeth and the others–Isabella had beaten up like they were little chickens.

“How strong can she be?” Violet scoffed, raising her right arm and flexing her muscles in front of Isabella. Like this?‘

She deliberately showed off her physique with a smug look that made Isabella frown.

Chapter 69

Violet did have a great body–tall, with perfect lines, firm skin. You could tell she worked out regularly.

But…

Isabella gestured for her to look at her own tray.

Violet lowered her proud muscles and looked down. Somehow, without her noticing, the edge of her tray had been bent.

But the problem was…

This tray was metal, wasn’t it?

“What did you do?” Violet stared at her in horror.

Isabella loosened her fingers and said calmly, “Eat up, or it’ll get cold.”

What went cold wasn’t just breakfast–it was Violet’s spine.

She suddenly remembered the moment earlier when she’d reached out to pinch Isabella’s cheek and Isabella had caught her wrist

If Isabella hadn’t held back then, would she already be in the hospital with her bones being reset?

Violet blinked her pretty eyes, suddenly feeling a bit hopeless.

Would she ever get to touch Isabella’s little face again?
