Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Calling for Backup

Then, Melody Summers moved Blondie’s body out of her space and threw it on top of Flynn Adler, riddling his body with a few more arrows as well.

Just as she’d done before, she searched Blondie’s body and, sure enough, found a handgun that glinted coldly.

Melody Summers stored the handgun in her space as well.

Having dealt with everything, Melody Summers could no longer stand the thick stench of blood in the room. She slipped back into her space and sat on the grass, panting heavily.

In The Arcadian Woods, the fruit trees were laden with fruit, their branches heavy with all sorts of plump produce. The air was filled with a sweet, fresh fragrance.

Melody Summers silently closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down. She took deep breaths, trying to wash away the gory images seared into her mind.

After a minute of silence, her mind finally settled. She quickly ran through her plan and prepared to return to the hotel room.

But just as she opened her eyes, she discovered that a Leopard had silently approached at some point!

The Leopard was now standing right in front of her, the two of them staring at each other.

The massive beast stared fixedly at her, its eyes holding the distinct, intimidating presence of a large feline. It opened its mouth slightly, revealing sharp fangs.

Melody Summers shuddered, clapping a hand over her mouth to keep from screaming.

’How could there be a leopard in my space!’

Melody Summers stared at the Leopard in disbelief, so shocked that she froze on the spot.

Just then, Albus darted out from behind the Leopard and agilely leaped onto its head.

The moment Albus landed, the Leopard, which had been standing tall and proud, instantly slumped to the ground like a deflated ball and began to listlessly lick its paws.

Seeing this, Melody Summers hurriedly asked, "White, what’s going on? Where did this Leopard come from?"

Albus tilted its head at Melody Summers and replied:

"I saw it on the second basement level. It blocked my path and wouldn’t let me leave, so I had no choice but to bring it in here."

"It’s really huge. It gave me quite a scare when it first appeared."

The Leopard: ...???

Hearing this, Melody Summers quickly scooped Albus into her arms. "Don’t be scared, White," she comforted, stroking its head.

Albus snuggled contentedly in Melody Summers’s arms.

The Leopard: ...

Seeing that the Leopard wasn’t aggressive, Melody Summers relaxed.

Holding Albus, she circled the Leopard. She had only ever seen this kind of animal in TV documentaries.

There’s usually no one in the shot for scale on TV, so she had always thought leopards were about the size of a medium dog. She never imagined a real one would be this huge!

Seeing the Leopard lying listlessly on the ground like a docile housecat, Melody Summers ran to the storehouse, pulled out a few chickens and ducks she had slaughtered earlier, and tossed them to the beast.

Melody Summers spoke to the Leopard tentatively. "Flora, there isn’t much food or water outside right now. Life won’t be easy for you out there, so why don’t you stay here for now? When I get the chance, I’ll take you back to the Veldian Plains."

"You can eat these chickens and ducks for now. If you get thirsty, drink from the stream... I’ll feed you every day from now on, but you can’t kill any of the animals in the livestock pen, and you can’t cause trouble in the fields..."

As if it understood her, the Leopard listened quietly, then began to chew on the chickens and ducks Melody Summers had given it.

Seeing how well-behaved the Leopard was, Melody Summers felt relieved.

Albus said to Melody Summers:

"There are a lot of rooms on the second basement level with many girls inside. Nina Walsh and the girl from the elevator are in there too. But there’s a group of men guarding the elevator entrance."

This leopard, meanwhile, had been guarding the stairwell of the emergency exit on the second basement level.
