Reborn with Nothing but My Farm and Vengeance in the Apocalypse novel Chapter 477

Chapter 477: Chapter 477

But Winston Sheffield just scoffed, his face a mask of nonchalance. "So what? I couldn’t care less about money. What Sylvia and I have is true love!"

Years ago, the very first time he laid eyes on Sylvia Lancaster, Winston Sheffield had fallen in love at first sight.

Back then, Sylvia Lancaster was the treasured daughter of the wealthy Lancaster family. In Winston Sheffield’s eyes, she was like a true pearl, radiating light. For many years, she had been his ultimate dream, an untouchable beauty on a pedestal.

To finally have her now felt like a dream come true for Winston Sheffield!

As for the Lancaster family’s bankruptcy...

Not only did Winston Sheffield not care, he was actually glad the Lancaster family was bankrupt.

’After all, if the Lancaster family hadn’t gone bankrupt, if Sylvia hadn’t fallen from the heavens into the mud, how would he ever have had a chance to be with her?’

As Winston Sheffield saw it, heaven itself was helping him!

Hearing this, Wendy Sheffield found it utterly baffling. She couldn’t believe that her brother, who she’d always considered smart, was actually such a lovesick fool!

She stared at Winston, her expression a mixture of anger and disappointment. "Brother! Have you lost your mind? Her family has nothing left, and you still want to be with her? Are you planning to support her entire family?!"

Before Winston could even respond, Sylvia spoke up.

Sylvia let out a few soft sobs, then lifted her head. Looking at Winston with tear-filled eyes, she said sorrowfully, "Winston, Wendy is right. Right now, I’m nothing but a burden to you..."

"...Winston, you’re so good to me. I can’t bear to drag you down. I should just leave... Thank you for taking care of me these past few days..."

As she finished, a single tear fell, landing right in Winston’s palm. He felt his heart melt.

His arm around Sylvia tightened, and he looked down, comforting her in a gentle voice, "Sylvia, don’t say that. Since you’re going to be my wife, helping your family is my responsibility. I’ve never thought of you as a burden."

Then Winston looked up, his face filled with disapproval as he turned to Wendy. "Wendy Sheffield!" he said in a low, stern voice. "What nonsense were you just spouting? Look what you’ve done—you made your sister-in-law cry! Apologize to her, now!"

Watching this scene unfold, Wendy felt a surge of fury. ’Sylvia is actually putting on an act right in front of me!’

She shot Sylvia a vicious glare, then, unable to hold back any longer, she roared at Winston, "Winston Sheffield! Have you lost your damn mind? Can’t you see she’s faking it? She’s a manipulative bitch!"

"Do you have any idea how much she used to bully people back in school? And you want to marry a woman like that? What is wrong with you?!"

Winston grew angry as well. He frowned at Wendy and rebuked her, "Wendy Sheffield! How could you say that about your good friend? You’ve gone too far! Is this how Mom and Dad raised you? Do you have any manners at all?!"

Wendy’s eyes widened in disbelief. "I’ve gone too far? Winston, I think you’re the one who’s lost his mind! No matter how ill-mannered I might be, I would never stoop to seducing an engaged man like she did!"
