Felix Ford was stunned by the sight of the space, but Sylvia Lancaster, standing beside him, was just as shocked.
She was only just now realizing that the space could actually look like this!
In her past life, after getting the space, she had discovered the healing properties of the stream’s water. She realized it was a business opportunity and subsequently focused entirely on selling the water. She couldn’t even be bothered to farm, so she never unlocked any of the space’s other areas.
By the time she died, she had only unlocked The Arcadian Fields and The Arcadian Stream. She never imagined that the space also contained forests, high mountains, lakes...
Gazing at the fruit-laden trees in the distant forest, Sylvia thought, ’No wonder Melody Summers didn’t sell water in this life! She could make a fortune just by selling fruit!’
Just as Sylvia was practically drooling at the sight of the fruit in the forest, Melody Summers suddenly spoke up. "Felix Ford, were you killed by Sylvia Lancaster in your past life?"
Before Felix Ford could answer, Sylvia instinctively retorted, "What are you talking about! How could I have killed him!"
But to her surprise, the moment she finished speaking, Felix Ford replied, "Yes..."
’Just as I thought,’ Melody mused.
She stared at Felix Ford and asked in a cold voice, "How did you die in your past life, and how do you know about the space? You’d better explain everything from beginning to end, or else..."
Melody Summers patted the Leopard lying beside her and threatened in a low voice, "Or else, I’ll let you know what it feels like to be disemboweled. You know, large predators prefer organs. It’ll tear you open while you’re still alive... You might not even be dead by the time it’s eaten your entire abdominal cavity."
As if to confirm Melody Summers’s words, the Leopard let out a low growl at Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster, sending a shiver down both their spines.
Under Melody Summers’s scrutinizing gaze, Felix Ford began to explain the whole story in a low voice.
In his past life, Felix Ford had been a refugee who fled to Anworth City from a neighboring province. Hearing that the reconstruction area behind The Metropolis Residences was hiring, he applied and found a job hauling bricks.
The job paid, but not much. Felix Ford didn’t exactly have clean hands to begin with and often snuck around The Metropolis Residences, stealing things.
One day, he was chatting with his co-workers and heard them talking about the prestigious Lancaster Family of Anworth. The workers said the family’s story was the stuff of legends.
The Lancaster Family had been a leader in the tourism industry but went bankrupt after the cataclysms began. Unexpectedly, however, they had developed a potion that could cure diseases.
The Lancaster Family raked in a fortune selling the potion and returned to their peak, more prominent than ever. They were even commended by the government for their contribution to medicine.
After hearing his co-workers’ stories, Felix Ford learned that the Lancaster Family now lived in The Metropolis Residences right in front of them, and he immediately hatched a devious plan.
Under the cover of night, he snuck near the Lancaster residence, planning to slip inside and score some "extra cash."
But he never would have guessed that as soon as he got close to the Lancaster house, he was targeted by Sylvia Lancaster.
At that time, Sylvia Lancaster was just about to implement her "slave-rearing plan." She wanted to capture people to work as slaves in her space, farming for her, and she wanted to test if the space could even pull people in. Felix Ford, who had walked right into her lap, became her first target.
Sylvia Lancaster didn’t know how to pull someone into the space and only succeeded after several attempts.
