My heart started pounding as a wild thought crossed my mind. I’d grown up in an orphanage, never knowing anything about my biological family. Social services had told me I’d been abandoned as a baby with no identifying information, no clues about where I’d come from or who my parents might have been.

But this man looked like he could be related to me. A brother, maybe, or a cousin. The resemblance was too strong to be coincidental.
