Juniper stepped out of the manager’s cabin quietly and walked back to her desk, keeping her expression composed despite everything that had just happened inside.
She had barely settled into her chair when Zaden leaned slightly toward her.
"He’s definitely taking credit for the report you prepared," he said under his breath.
Sarah nodded in agreement.
"Exactly. He was scolding you earlier, and now he’s presenting the same report like it’s his own," she added. "Why don’t you just complain to the Director?"
Juniper let out a small, dry chuckle.
"You want me to start a war here?" she said. She shook her head slightly. "I just need to survive here for at least three months."
That was her only goal, for now. If it meant swallowing a few insults along the way, she would.
"Don’t give her ideas," Victor suddenly cut in from the other side. "She’s more than capable of destroying people like him."
His tone carried a sharp edge. "Victor, why don’t you just stay quiet?" Sarah snapped. "You’ve been acting like a bully all day. You can’t judge someone based on one incident."
Victor scoffed. "I’m not judging her," he said, though his gaze shifted pointedly toward Juniper.
That was enough to snap her patience. Juniper slowly stood up from her chair and turned to face him.
Her expression was calm, but her eyes were cold.
"If you’re so eager for me to use my connections at the palace," she said evenly, "I can start with you."
The room fell silent as everyone looked at her.
"Don’t bring my personal life into the workplace again," she continued in an intimidating tone. "We’re here to do our jobs. So focus on that."
Victor’s jaw tightened, the muscles in his face twitching as if he was about to snap back at her. But before he could say a word, the cabin door opened.
One by one, the officials began stepping out.
The entire department straightened instantly. Everyone stood in place, hands joined respectfully in front, maintaining complete silence as the senior authorities walked past.
Once they had exited the department, the manager followed them out briefly before returning moments later, his face noticeably brighter than before.
He walked back into his cabin with visible satisfaction, clearly pleased with how things had gone.
Juniper watched him through the glass window for a second.
’He just wants to keep harassing me by making me redo the same work again and again.’
Suppressing the thought, she lowered herself back into her chair.
Without saying another word, she resumed working, forcing herself to focus despite the annoyance.

By the time the office emptied out, Juniper was still at her desk.
