“What do you want me to say?” Ash didn’t know how the topic had returned to William.
Ash didn’t know how the topic had returned to William.
But she had learned her lesson this time.
She would ask a question in return to get the answer he wanted to know.
Calvert glanced away from her face, his voice still cold and deep. “If I tell you, will you listen?”

“Selectively. If you say something I can’t do anything about, I can’t do it, can I?” Ash tilted her head slightly and looked at
him.
In the end, he didn’t say anything. He leaned back on the sofa with an indifferent expression. “Are you in a hurry to have lunch?”
“Well, I don’t want to starve. I’m not in a hurry, but I don’t think my stomach can hold out much longer.” Ash glanced at the time. It was almost one o’clock in the afternoon.
She had breakfast at home this morning after six o’clock.
Fortunately, Ash was usually in good physical condition, otherwise she might be hypoglycemic by now.
“Yes, let’s eat.”
“Are… you coming with us?” Ash asked purely out of curiosity.
After all, she felt like Calvert didn’t seem to like William very much, and having a meal with someone he didn’t like would probably be tasteless.
He nodded almost without hesitation. “Yes, why not? The client is visiting the company. Shouldn’t you at least provide
lunch?”
“Of course, it’s just that we eat in the company cafeteria. I’m worried that the food in our cafeteria is not to your taste, so I asked.” Ash answered quickly.
Calvert pulled off his tie, took off his suit jacket, and casually put it to one side. He rolled up his sleeves slightly, revealing a section of his wrist, clean and sharp. “I’m not picky.”
In the end, the three of them sat down in the company cafeteria in a strange and subtle atmosphere.
Most of the employees had already finished their meals at this point, but some employees wanted to avoid the peak hours. The three of them were so eye–catching that everyone who passed by couldn’t help but glance at them.
“Don’t you like spicy food? This is very good. Try it.” William sat next to Ash and naturally picked up a dish for her.
Ash glanced at the dish, then at Calvert who was sitting opposite her, and felt a strange sense of having an atfair.
She thought, I didn’t do anything guilty!
Also, why did William have to pick up food for me?‘
Calvert glanced at the food on her plate, his eyes darkened slightly, and he pushed the lemon–flavored sparkling water on the side to her. “Lemon.”
“Thank you.” Ash regretted agreeing to have lunch with them.

Chapter 177
She was really asking for trouble.

William picked up the fork and seemed to be about to pick up food for her again, but Ash stopped him in time. “I think we should hurry up and finish the meal. We will all be busy later.
“Also, the restaurant staff will clean up later, so let’s not waste their time.” Ash was very tired. Suddenly, she felt that men were really difficult to deal with.
William hmmmed. “Okay, but don’t rush too much. Eating too fast is not good for your stomach. Also, your food today is spicy, so drink less sour drinks. It’s not good for your stomach.”
“I didn’t expect Mr. Mallin to know medicine.” Calvert sneered, his lips curled up in mockery.
William put down his fork and looked directly at him. “I don’t. I just know a little bit of common sense.”
The smell of gunpowder between the two was very strong. She took a deep breath, patted the table, and gave the order. “Enough. Let’s eat. Shall we?
“Or, if you two really like talking so much, how about you two sit at a separate table?”
These two men were usually so powerful, but at this moment, they were just like two elementary school students.
At this moment, Ash suddenly admired the ancient kings for managing many spouses.
However, she didn’t have any romantic feelings for these two men in front of her, so she wondered why she had such a ridiculous thought.
Finally, the meal came to a peaceful end.
“Then I’ll be on my way. If you need anything, please contact me.” Before leaving, William gave another instruction.
Calvert stood by her side, eyelids slightly raised, eyes full of coldness. “The Triple–A Game project doesn’t need any outsiders to help, otherwise, who will be responsible for leaking secrets?”
“Let’s go. He is talking about other things.” Ash glared at Calvert. Even if he didn’t like William, she didn’t think he had to be so confrontational.
William just wanted to help her. She felt that it had nothing to do with Calvert.
After William left, Calvert’s face darkened. With one hand in his pocket, he looked at her. “You are so protective of him. Are you afraid that others will verbally attack him?”
“Then do you admit that you are attacking him?” Ash didn’t want to mention it at all, but Calvert took the initiative to bring it up.
He didn’t feel embarrassed at all. “I didn’t feel like I was verbally attacking him. I was just stating the facts. The Triple–A Game project doesn’t need outsiders to participate. You are imagining things.”
Ash was silent for a while. “What makes you think I am imagining things?”
For a moment, the two began to play a game of tongue twisters.
Calvert nodded without hesitation. “You don’t admit that you were imagining?”
