CHAPTER 246 (EPILOGUE)-2
“Don’t! Don’t you dare try to calm me down! This is your fault too! All of you and your stupid knots and your stupid-” Another contrastion cut me off.
The pain was unbearable. Like being ripped apart from the inside.
Time blurred. Contractions came faster, harder. I cursed the Goddess, cursed the four of them, cursed
everything.
“I can see the head!” Maya said. “Push!”
I pushed. Holy hell, I pushed.
And then suddenly there was crying. A baby crying.
“It’s a boy!” Maya announced.
Relief flooded through me. It was over. Thank the Goddess it was over.
Except it wasn’t.
Another contraction hit.
“What?” I gasped. “No. No, it’s out. It’s done.”
Maya’s face went pale. “There’s another one.”
“WHAT?”
She checked again quickly. “There’s another baby. You’re having twins.”
“TWINS?!” I screamed. “Are you kidding me right now?!”
The four Alphas looked shocked. Darius actually stumbled back a step.
“Push!” Maya ordered.
I pushed, screaming curses at the Moon Goddess the entire time. Sick. Twisted. Cruel What had I done to
deserve this?
The second baby came faster than the first.
“Another boy!” Maya said.
Two. Two babies.
But the contractions didn’t stop.
“No,” I said, feeling another one build. “No no no no-”
Maya’s eyes went wide. “There’s a third.”
“I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!” I screamed at the ceiling. “Moon Goddess, I swear when I die I’m coming for
1/4

you! This is sick! You’re sick!”
The third baby fought me. Harder labor than the first two. I was exhausted, in agony, ready to die right
there.
But finally, after what felt like hours, the third baby came.
“Boy!” Maya announced.
Three babies.
I lay there gasping, praying it was over.
It wasn’t.
The fourth contraction hit.
“Oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me,” I wheezed.
Maya looked terrified now. “There’s a fourth.”
“FOUR?!” Killian shouted. “How did we not know there were FOUR?”
Claim
“Their heartbeats must have been synchronized,” Maya said quickly. “It sounded like one. I’ve never seen
that before.”
“Of course you haven’t!” I screamed. “Because the Moon Goddess is a twisted bitch who loves making my
life hell!”
The fourth baby was the hardest. I had nothing left. No strength, no energy. Just pain and rage and the desperate need for this to be over.
“Push, Clara!” Maya urged.
“I AM PUSHING!”
Darius grabbed my hand. I squeezed so hard I heard bones crack. He didn’t even flinch.
“Come on,” he said. “One more. Just one more.”
I pushed with everything I had left.
And finally, finally, the fourth baby came.
“Boy!” Maya said, relief clear in her voice. “That’s all of them. Four babies. All boys.”
I collapsed back against the pillows, utterly destroyed.
Four babies.
Four boys.
“I’m never having sex again,” I said weakly. “Never. You hear me? All of you can forget it.”
“Noted,” Killian said faintly.
CHAPTER 246TERILOGUE) 2
Maya and her assistants worked quickly, cleaning the babies, checking them. All four were crying now. Healthy, strong cries.
“They’re perfect,” Maya said, smiling despite her obvious shock. “All four of them. And…” She paused, examining them more closely. “This is extraordinary. Each one has distinct scent markers. Each baby belongs to a different Alpha.”
Silence fell.
“What?” I said weakly.
Claim
“One baby from each mate bond,” Maya explained. “The Moon Goddess gave you quadruplets. One son
from each Alpha.”
The four of them stared at the babies, then at each other, then at me.
“Four sons,” Darius said slowly. “One from each of us.”
“The Goddess really is twisted,” Lucien muttered.
Maya brought them over one by one, explaining as she went. “This one is Darius’s. You can smell it in his
scent. This one Killian’s. This one Lucien’s. And this one Ronan’s.”
Four boys. Four distinct scents. One from each Alpha.
She placed all four on my chest. Tiny, perfect, mine.
I stared at them, overwhelmed.
Four boys. One from each Alpha. The Moon Goddess’s final joke.
“I still hate you,” I said to the ceiling, but there was no heat in it now.
Because looking at these four tiny lives, I couldn’t quite bring myself to mean it.
They were perfect. All of them.
Even if I’d nearly died getting them here.
“What do we name them?” Ronan asked softly.
“I don’t know,” I said. “I didn’t prepare four names. I thought there was ONE.”
“We’ll figure it out,” Lucien said.
The babies squirmed against my chest, making little noises. Already so different from each other. Already their own people.
“Four,” Darius said, still sounding shocked. “We have four children.”
“The Council is going to lose their minds,” Killian added.
“Let them,” I said tiredly. “We followed their conditions. They can’t complain about how many babies I have.”
