Fressia was incredibly powerful, second only to Sebastian. In a one-on-one battle, it was unlikely that anyone could take her down. Yet, in this moment, even she could feel the deadly threat.
Just as she was bracing herself for a desperate fight, Sebastian acted. Without warning, he wrapped his arm around her slender waist. With a swift movement, they dodged the incoming attacks, moving several yards in the blink of an eye.
The strikes missed completely. Before their attackers could regroup, Sebastian flicked his wrist, sending out an invisible wave of sword energy.
With a sharp whoosh, two of the heads of the shadowy figures dropped to the ground.
The toxic fog might have obscured vision, but once Sebastian activated his spiritual sense, he could see clearer than with his eyes. In fact, he could perceive everything around him. Any attempt to ambush him was utterly pointless.
The remaining grandmasters, realizing their comrades had fallen, panicked. Just as they were about to flee, Sebastian struck again. Another wave of sword energy flashed, and more heads dropped to the ground.
Sebastian had the ability to battle far beyond his level. Though he had only recently stepped into the Demigod Realm, his strength was far superior to those just entering the same rank.
With the last of the grandmasters dealt with, Sebastian raised his hand again, releasing a surge of overwhelming energy. The toxic mist was blown away in an instant. With a deafening crash, the entire palace crumbled to rubble. The archers stationed outside were buried beneath the debris.
Oslo had been standing further back. He was quick to react and managed to retreat just in time to avoid being crushed.
Still, he was terrified. Sebastian's power was far more terrifying than he had ever imagined.
He had to run.
That was the only thought in his mind as he spun around and bolted.
Just as he turned around, he saw something flying over his head. He looked up just in time to see a massive foot descending rapidly toward him.
However, there was one person who hadn't managed to escape. It was Kathy.
It wasn't that she didn't want to run. She simply couldn't.
The night before, she had conspired with the queen to kill Fressia, but Sebastian had intervened in time. He had killed the queen and crippled Kathy's vocal cords, along with part of her internal energy channels. He had then knocked her out and disguised her as Fressia.
Still, for someone her age, she hadn't done too badly. After all, she had spent an entire night being "favored" by the crown prince and had even become the crown princess. She could count that as a lifetime achievement.
Sebastian didn't bother killing her. Instead, he grabbed one of the guards and forced him to reveal the location of the royal treasury before looting it without hesitation.
Afterward, he made his way through the palace, plundering everything of value.
