"Let's have some fun." Sebastian pulled her out of the car. "What's wrong? Are you scared?"
The private room was dim, filled with a warm, intimate glow. Zoey sat at the head of the table in a white dress.
The moment Sebastian and Felicia walked in, Zoey stood up and looped her arm through Sebastian's.
"Sebastian, finally! We've all been waiting for you to join the game!" she exclaimed.
"Come on! Let's play!" one of Zoey's friends said. "Losers have to accept a punishment!"
The game had barely started when Sebastian and Zoey just so happened to lose.
Zoey's friends exchanged knowing glances, their voices rising with excitement.
"Link arms and drink! You two have to drink from each other's glasses!"
Zoey blushed as she lifted her glass. Sebastian's lips curved faintly. His eyes swept toward Felicia, and as he reached for the wine, his arm slid through Zoey's.
The next round began, and again, Sebastian and Zoey lost.
"This one's even better!" a friend said excitedly, flipping over a card. "Share a passionate kiss for five minutes!"
The room erupted in shrieks.
Sebastian grabbed Zoey by the back of her head and kissed her in front of everyone.
"Final round! Carry her like a princess and spin!"
Sebastian easily scooped Zoey into his arms and spun around on the spot three times as everyone cheered.
Zoey's white dress fluttered through the air, her arms hooked around his neck as she laughed breathlessly.
Felicia could feel Sebastian's eyes on her, watching, waiting for her to snap.
However, she didn't. She simply took a sip of water, her face calm, though her stomach burned painfully.
"I'm going to the restroom," she said, brushing past Sebastian's knee as she stood.
In the restroom, she splashed cold water on her face.
Her reflection in the mirror looked ghastly pale. She had barely pushed open the door when Zoey appeared in the doorway.
"Still pretending to be calm?" Zoey toyed with her freshly manicured nails. "Too bad. Sebastian told me himself. He wants to humiliate you tonight."
She let out a quick laugh, then the tears spilled over. Sebastian wanted to make her life a living hell, but she'd been living in hell for years.
Felicia returned home alone. Sebastian never called her again, but she knew him too well to think it was over.
And she was right. At three in the morning, the sound of a door slamming open shattered the silence.
Sebastian stormed inside, his face dark with rage. He yanked the covers off her and grabbed her wrist. "Get up! You're giving Zoey a blood transfusion at the hospital!"
Felicia stumbled as he dragged her toward the door, her stomach twisting in pain. "I didn't push her—"
"Shut up!" He shoved her into the car. "She's lost too much blood. You share her blood type. You're responsible."
The glaring white lights of the hospital hallway stung Felicia's eyes.
She was then pushed into a blood collection room. The nurse approached with a syringe but hesitated when she saw Felicia's face.
The nurse said, "Mr. Fuller, we can't draw her blood—"
"Why not?" Sebastian cut her off.
The nurse glanced down at the medical report. "Her body can't handle it. The report shows that she's already in the late stage of cancer…"
